The 55 miles of the Isle of Wight network would create a varied and unique experience for Train Sim World, with locomotives, scenery and an era, completely different to that of Liverpool to Crewe. A beautiful country branch style route, with plenty of freight opportunities such as two shipping ports, varied track with tunnels and steep hills around Ventnor, as well as brilliant coastal scenery across the island, with Ryde in particular. All of this crammed into just 55 miles. The Terriers and O2s of the island, hauling non-corridor compartment stock, would create an incredibly immersive and different experience for players. With so many different routes and lines to take around the island, players will never run out of things to do, as they re-live a bygone era, on this once tourist heavy railway, now lost to time. Would really appreciate a like on this post to show support towards the idea Image source: https://flic.kr/p/2m8uWyD https://flic.kr/p/ecxWrE https://flic.kr/p/2mGAS8P https://flic.kr/p/2kU5msc For more images: http://johnclintongrant.com/Starzina Z Railways IOW.htm
Yes! DTG simply HAVE to do this one! It would be another great addition to TSW2's steam content and a unique route in that it would be a complete network! The track mileage isn't too extreme either. Also who could say no to a Terrier?
Being a volunteer on the Isle of Wight steam railway I really recommend the railways on the island in steam and heritage running (trainee fireman)
Here is a picture of the last Adams o2 w24 on 5he steam railway in Southern lining and a1x Terrier w11 in Southern lining at Havenstreet this year (isle of eight steam railway) Offer locomotive are E1 that ran the island in steam
Some lovely shots. I do love Calbourne in that stunning livery. Especially paired up with the matching coaches.
This would be a good idea and they should released this as an expansion pack similar to the Great Western Railway Diesel Legends loco pack. This could give the players to drive the present route along with the historic rail system of the Isle of Wright.
