Nah, audio was great, not horrendous lol. Very helpful video. You make it seem very easy. Simple explaining, nothing complicated.
On a related note, does anyone have any idea as to what a reasonable hill climbing speed is for the 8F once you’re out on the main line? I appreciate it’ll depend on weather conditions, goods carried etc. I ran the 0820 through freight, Edge Hill - Nuneaton service earlier on (675 tonnes) and just about managed to crawl up the hill to Halton Junction at 18mph whilst keeping the steam pressure up.
As far as my experience goes i believe you're only going to get a maximum of 20mph. I guess that's why they upgraded to diesel trains.
What sort of setting should I be using to get up to 90 on the jubilee? I get around 70 with the help of hills, but then wheelslip and can't get any higher
I had originally included this bit in the video but removed it haha. You'll have to lower the reverser to below 25%, when you start wheel slipping try going to 15% and you'll notice your speed slowly climbing. After you start wheel slipping again start lowering the reverser by 5% each time and you'll be able to reach max speed. It's worth noting that heavier trains will wheel-slip at lower speeds so you will have to reduce the reverser earlier and you will not be able to reach the same high speeds. I can make another video if you would like another explanation
