Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

    This week's theme is: Shunting

You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice?

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    • In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Friday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!
(Please Note since the new update which changes loading times we have decided to change it to 1 week)

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/

And most did. They were built so that the man driving (often a yard shunter chappie) could just step in/out without climbing up and down. Many were fitted with a treadle operated brake located outside the cab so that the cheapie didn’ even have to get in the cab to stop the motion.

    Thank you, much appreciated.
Must admit I am somewhat disappointed to find that my winning shot is already demoted to 2nd place, while the 3 weeks ago winner is promoted to first screenshot you see, and with quickload possibly the only one you will see.

    Cracking shot Craigie-C Well done.

I can empathise with you on that issue, because of the UK Bank Holiday my winning shot last week was not posted live until Tuesday & by the Friday of the same week now demoted to 3rd place. :(

You already have 5 wins this year so what is the problem if it is not posted immediately after the win?

Maybe DTG are busy with something else.

And others are posting week after week without any wins at all so sometimes it feels pointless to even join the contest.

The amount of wins I have acheived is immaterial, I am always grateful to see my screenshots on the loading screen. I am also the first to appreciate when a much better shot is chosen above mine, such is the definition of a competition.
Like everyone else I offer my best options, It is up to DTG to choose what they perceive to be the best, I have just been very fortunate this year.
I also have no complaint with when my winning shot was posted, it was stated clearly that the winning shot would not be chosen until after the Bank Holiday.

My issue is about Craigie-C has won this weeks comp but his screenshot has been replaced with one that won 3 weeks ago, and my own winning shot from last week is now 3rd.

As to the others that post week after week without winning, I suggest they do the same as I did.
Look at all the past winning shots, study and learn how to frame the "perfect" shot, Related Subject, Lighting, Composition etc. etc.
I know how it feels to week on week keep posting your shots to have them rejected.
For the record in 2021 I Offered 98 contributions and only won 3.
    I learned from that
