Now before you all go mad on how complex this may be to complete, this is purley an idea that I doubt anything will come of. I had this wild idea the other day for a upgraded version of the scenario planner. You could substitute the current working timetable and use it in the scenario planner, where you can change what trains run that service etc. The whole idea is so that you can't change the times. This leads me onto my next point. It would be cool if you could add one or 2 custom times to simulate depot moves. Each map would only be able to have one running timetable substitute as it would help with storage problems. The perfect example would be the midnight riviera on the gwml. You could have the midnight riviera run out of reading train are depot where you would have subbed the class 47 and carridges for the 166 and have it run the fast line up to paddington on a hst time. This then could be put on a 23:45 time as with reality and have it run back down to reading on a Penzance journey so that it would go off the map like most ai services do. But when at reading, it would give you the option to add different times for the other loco on the back so that it would disconnect and go back into reading train care depot. One thing I forgot to mention was the idea of making custom trains and being able to select what carridges you want and in what order and the option to add locos on both ends, not just one. I know this would be quite hard to achieve but I think it would really ramp the the creativity in the game. Please let me know what you think...
That's EXACTLY what scenario planner needs to really be useful imo. It may be complex but honestly PTP was able to do that and way more than that 15 years ago.
This would be better than a scenario, with only one train or trains that don’t leave the last station after finishing a service Another idea would be to set a train to a destination not on your route so the train doesn’t just stay at the last station Example: a custom scenario from London Victoria to Ore you drive to wivelsfield then train leaves the route and add return to free roam
