I just thought I'd share my thoughts on what Rivet Games upcoming dlc might be based on the stock most suited to the routes we currently have. Here goes... Cathcart Circle Class 318 or 320 IoW Class 03, 05 or 485/486 GWE Class 57, 165 or 180 WCL Class 50 or 155 WSR Class 14 or 35 DLoGW Class 42/43, 117/121 or 123 ECW Class 377 variants London Commuter Class 455 or 700 NTP Class 25, 124 or 128 TVL Class 56 or 142/143 SEHS Class 70 (GE Diesel) or 92 I believe that this list of possible candidates are amongst the most likely based on each route and its era. Tell me what you think.
Given Rivet reused parts of the IoW Class 483 to make the 1938 stock for Bakerloo, I can see them reusing the Class 150 bodyshell to make a Mk3 based EMU such as a Class 318/320 for Cathcart or a Class 455/8 for London Commuter/Brighton Main Line. That seems the logical choice but knowing Rivet it could be anything. I really hope it isn't the Class 484 like what everyone else seems to think, it would be inappropriate for the IoW we have (unless the route was modernised - which I don't see happening for a loco DLC).
Whatever it is it needs to be better than there previous releases. In fact needs to be perfect as any issues will take a year to resolve given their past performance.
Absolutely agree with you that the Class 484, although interesting, would be wholly incorrect as the entire route needs a rebuild as in reality. I can't figure out why anyone, let alone many, would believe that this is what is coming as it is entirely the wrong era too. This is why I created this speculative list.
The only fix I am personally waiting for is the "On the Wight track" trophy for PS4 which still is not popping.
The latest Rivet teaser implies a dlc for a 3rd Rail route. Based on the older looking wooden sleepers, I would think it would most likely be for Isle of Wight. However the Class 484 would require the complete remodeling of the route to accommodate them.
After the upgraded isle line is released its just the steam railway and a steam day router and I think that the fall island Is going to be a done as it is only 55 miles of track
