Shouldn't this be telling me my max speed is 35km/h which is shown on virtually all other German trains in "O" when under 500hz? I was travelling in restrictive mode prior to the 500Hz kicking in so I think I should actually been shown a 25km/h limit?
Not 35, no, not sure where you ever saw that. Maximum velocity for mode O under 500Hz supervision is 65km/h dropping to 45km/h or 25km/h in restricted mode (technically 45km/h dropping to 25km/h, I believe).
In „O“ it is 165 km/h max, down to 85 km/h in 23 s under 1000 Hz, maximum of 65 km/h when passing a 500 Hz magnet and then down to 45 km/h in 150 m (not sure on that distance from the top of my head) and in restricted mode (after having stopped with either 1000 or 500 Hz) 45 km/h or 25 km/h respectively. you get 35 km/h under 500 Hz in mode M which is probably the standard setting on a lot of freight trains. But pretty much all passenger trains are O and follow the above.
That would be where I'm getting it from although I'd still question if 45km/h is correct when running in restrictive PZB. Shouldn't it display 25km/h?
Just checked the official manual. The MFD displays the current speed supervision meaning that it’ll show 45km/h until the point at which you must be below 25km/h (and the MFD switches to displaying 25km/h). To anyone from the German speaking community, feel free to correct me if I misinterpreted the manual (page 52 of the PDF, Anzeige b)).
45 km/h is normal startup monitoring. 25 km/h special restriction only kicks in if you have come to a stop (or fallen below 10 km/h) while under a 500 Hz influence, such as at a station with a red exit signal. It should clear itself once you pass out of range of the 500 Hz magnet.
