No. Those figures show I'm right. Look at the figures from 2020. Every peak and trough for TSC is lower than the one before and there's a clear upward trend for TSW. Look at activity in these boards. Some days there are almost no new posts in the TSC section, but the TSW section is always busy. Look for the posters that used to be prolific here, but now only post on the TSW boards. Look at UKTS, it's clearly dying on it's feet. Sure, none of these show a rout for TSC, but they do show a direction of travel that must be concerning for pure TSC developers. I'm still switched on, and for the record I think TSW is pants, but like anyone else when I look at a night sky that's getting lighter in the east I deduce that day is coming.
Right, we're at crossed purposes, and I did wonder why you were going on about subscription. We were discussing items bought at a discount under subscription, not actual subscription items. Of course you can't download subscription items unless you are subscribed. When I posted about no longer subscribing now I have purchased everything I need at discount. that's when you replied discussing updates. Until that point no one was talking about subcription services.
Yes I think you're right, the year views are perhaps more useful. Here's the past year: Here is 2019/2020 before TSW2 came out Maybe a 25% drop off? Still, fairly steady around 1500 now, you can probably attribute a lot of that drop to people moving to TSW2. I am not sure how many people who haven't changed already will switch now.
TSW forums are always busy because people are always complaining on there. Not sure why you're talking about "prolific" posters. Am I back in high school? Do the cool kids think TS classic is lame now?
Get a proper job then, get your hands dirty. Don't freeload off the back of people participating in a hobby. There are the same idiots in Trainz, who create payware loco's. Then tell you, oh sorry no custom cab, no custom sounds. They have to be downloaded from the DLS. In regards the 185 i was not talking about payware on the shop. I was referring to routes, behind a subscription paywall and then also have a price on top of that. Anyway plenty of payware quality trucks released for ETS2 & ATS, but FREE MODS. I have been around the block too many times to be scammed by these people.
What? All content that requires a subscription to use on ATS requires just that, a subscription. Subs get a discount on payware items but there is no additional payware behind subware content.
I know, but apologies if I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you meant the subware worked without any payware purchases from ATS.
So if you subscribe to ATS do you get the payware routes included like ecml merge etc or do you have to pay extra on top? Wouldn't mind the ecml merge but I'm not paying on top of the subscription. Even so 33 quid to get 1 route is excessive anyway (I'm aware you get access to scenarios etc and other things)
ECML merge, WCML missing link and Doncaster - Leeds - York are free for fee paying subscribers (make sure you have the dependencies though). There are also lots of subscriber only scenarios and some freeware routes hosted on ATS.
To be fair, his point about Trainz is a valid one. Sell payware, then expect people to pay for the right to download something that is paid for instead of selling it as Steam DLC like TSC and TSW do. That's where I draw the line on whether Trainz is any good. But this forum isn't discussing that, so moving along.
