NS = Nederlandse Spoorwegen ( Netherland Railways), has just launched on a special event in the Rooterdam main station, their new Intercity trains!
They were made by Alstom, and it is based on their Coradia line-up!

    Here you have a picture:

    NS - ALSTHOM CORADIA.jpg
NS it has a "relative" old models of trains being in service for so many years
    - Note: I visited Amsterdam on 2002, and almost all trains I saw then, are still on service.

They have already replaced smaller ones, than this one few years ago, and also have new locomotives for the IC trains using Bombardier Traxx locomotives + passenger wagons.

These new ones will replace the NS Class 4000.
The "famous" ones for having the cabin "upstairs", like the Jumbo 747.

So, as I like NS trains, and would like to have a Holland route, this new train, will be great to have there, togheter with traditional ones.

My favorite is the double deck one: The VIRM

Here you have a Youtube video, showing the full new train.

Hope we can have a route from this country!

What do you think about it?

AlstHom doesn't exists anymore :D more seriously having rode the Régiolis ( Coradia Polyvalent ) and Coradia Liner used on Intercity lines I found them quite comfortable on the passenger side but also on the cab. They bring modernity but they will never be more comfortable than the trains they’re currently replacing and I’m talking about the Corail. I plan to visit again Netherlands soon and I hope to ride this

Thanks for pointing me out the "H"!

I agree with you on several cases, new trains are more technological, but not as comfortable as previous ones.
Even the interior "quality" and "durability"

Yeah the quality decreased… we call them plastic trains for a reason but it’s always cool to see some freshness ! I liked the ICM also it was a comfortable ride

I'm from Holland and I have visited the release in Rotterdam and I must say.... the best NS train sofar.... What an amazing seats with a stunning comfort. This is a absolute upgrade for class ICMm! But remember the ICMm or "Koploper" dates from 1980's....

Great, if it is an improvement from the previous one.
Of course please do not get me wrong about my comment.
Usually new things despite looks great and have more features, does not have the quality and durability of older ones.
But is nice to see new trains in Holland, as mostly are old.

I visited Amsterdan Centraal station in 2002 and it is an amazing building!
I spend around one hour there.
Lot of trains around, including international ones like the Thalys I saw there.
Taking about that train, when I were on Brussels on that trip on a bus tour through central Europe, I took the Thalys to go to Rotterdam where I had a friend there. Just for the day. I return at night to Brussels.

Thankfully we don’t have ( yet ) the awful iron board seats like in Italy or the UK that gives you a subscription to the orthopedist. The Coradia Polyvalent ( Régiolis ) which is the equivalent of your Coradia Stream POP, are used for regional services, they’re fitted with seats that are acceptable for a short ride, that’s what these trains were made for:

And the same train but in intercity version the B 85000 ( B stands for Bimode and runs in diesel mode or electric under 1.5KV DC and 25KV AC ) equipped with comfortable seats but not as much as the Corail ones: CA2E1714-E2F4-4800-9CAA-4ED3092EF12D.jpeg 92CA7FE0-DD4B-40C9-8541-70E932ACC09C.jpeg

Both of these trains can reach a max speed of 160 kph

Woaw the seats on the Minuetto are much better ! To be fair the seats on the Coradia Liner looks tough but it’s not as bad as it looks and yeah there’s a bimode version on both Régiolis ( Coradia Polyvalent ) and Coradia Liner. Basically the Liner is the same basis of the Régiolis with different interior and frontside used for intercity service

There is a PZB LZB and Vacma modified to run on Sifa software for Strasbourg/Metz to Germany version of the Coradia Dual mode B85500. At a push the PZB networks of DB and OBB

    7 lines to be precise:

    • Strasbourg-Sarrebruck
    • Strasbourg-Wörth-Karlsruhe
    • Strasbourg-Neustadt
    • Strasbourg-Offenburg
    • Metz-Trier
    • Metz-Sarrebruck
    • Mulhouse-Mülheim
They’re expected to open in 2023 ( now it’s planned to be in 2025 ) as some sets of B85500 are currently being tested in Germany also. If everything goes well all 30 sets are expected to be delivered in 2025. This Régiolis ordered by Région Grand Est and other Coradia Polyvalent are the last one being made by Alstom as they sold the platform along with the Talent 3 to CAF. This is a great exemple of cross border trains being successful ! There’s already a tramway line going from Strasbourg to Kehl but also some Helvetic tramway lines going to France like from Geneva and Basel network

Well said and from what I can see DTG should do Mosellebahn Trier Metz via Thionville for Crossborder operation 103.8 km with B85500 Passenger Freight BB37000 Freight Shunter BB64700 with TBB 64800 SNCF Deutsche Bahn DB BR641DB BR185.1 185.0. Looks like they also fit my suggestion Strasbourg Kehl Railway. Also my latest one 51 km Mulhouse Mülheim Baden Freiburg Im Breisgau line.
