This has always been the most annoying thing for me on tsw. Where the vegetation literally grows right in front of you. Does anybody know what this is called and is there a way to disable it or atleast change the distance? Thanks.
If we're thinking of the same thing, it's caused by TSW's terrible draw distance. I'm not sure if there is a draw distance setting but if there is you could try to mess around with it. Otherwise there is no way to fix it.
If you have the machine for it, navigate to C:\Users\your_username\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and open the Engine.ini file in the notepad. Scroll down and add the line foliage."LODDistanceScale=X", where X is a number multiplier for the LOD switch distance. Experiment with it to find the ideal value, but keep the number low. Below is the paste of my setting that make TSW2 look much better and still get good framerate. [SystemSettings] r.ViewDistanceScale=3 foliage.LODDistanceScale=5
Thanks for the replies. Yes it is rather annoying. More so that I'm starting to notice this effect on other titles now whereas I didn't before tsw. I've made a few ini tweaks already, level of detail and draw distance are at the highest. The only problem now is this vegetation growing and the rendering of trees. I've not noticed material quality setting though. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
This has to do with the culling distances of each foliage cluster. If they not grow/fade they will pop in and out at a certain distance. Decide what is better: popping or fading.
Another that helps reduce pop-in is foliage.DitheredLOD=X, where X is an integer that defines a period of time over which foliage "fades in" rather than "pops in." I find 5 works pretty well.
