Although now withdrawn these locos were associated with the Southern Region for many years.
24 of Class 71 were built from 1958 to 1960 and were still in traffic until 1977. The locos worked on the South Eastern division of the Southern Region and would be found on the Boat Train and Night Ferry services along with normal freight workings. They had a Pantograph for working in sidings where third rail would be dangerous for the shunting staff.

10 Class 71 locos were converted to Class 74 in 1967+68. Like the Class 73 the locos also had a small diesel engine to work away from the third rail network. The locos would be found all over the South Western division on Passenger, parcels and freight workings. https://hiveminer.com/Tags/class74

One of the class E5001 is preserved and did some mainline running after preservation. It would be possible to use details from the real loco for the model. Owners of the 6 or 7 Southern Region Third Rail routes would find the locos very useful

    +1, I'd agree to that and while they're at it how about a 4COR & 4SUB?
