During the height of steam in the UK, a common sound in and around station platforms was the noise of the guard's whistle. Trains were not allowed to start moving until the guard had blown his whistle and either waved his green flag, or shown his green lamp in the case of poor visability/night time. What I'm suggesting is to just have the guard's whistle's present though, as I know it might be a bit hard to get an animated guard due to the nature of the simulation. Basically; similar to how you have it that we can't go past red signals, it would be cool to have it that we can't start the train from the platform until we've heard the guard's whistle. Or, to make it even easier, just make it that when we've locked the door's after letting passengers alight at the platform, we hear a guard's whistle sound. Doesn't even need to have any bearing on the simulation, just a nice audio detail to hear.
Might be possible with dioramas but it's something that's been discussed before so maybe it will be developed and implemented
Wouldn't really be applicable on modern routes outside of major stations in the UK. Many many stations are now driver only operated where they either have cameras and screens on the platform or built into the trains themselves, or there's a guard on the train who does the "buzz buzz" inside the train itself
I would like to see them develop a Gaurd/ Conducter System for TSW where an Animated AI Character has control of the doors.
There is still train dispatchers at stations who blow the whistle and wave a baton/Flag to dispatch a train. Train dispatching should be a thing in tsw2/tsw3
Trian dispatchers at the main stations, yup. Other than that the guard does it themselves. Yes, train dispatching SHOULD be a thing in TSW, they have the means (dioramas) but it's not been implemented
