When planning to do an "exact" replica or custom livery on a GP38-2 or SD40-2, be aware there are texture mapping errors which will prevent different colors or designs from being applied to the front and rear cabin doors on the GP38-2, and the front left and rear right handrails on the SD40-2. Any layers applied to either door/handrail will automatically be applied to the other door/handrail. This error essentially ruined the right side of my replica ICG Bicentennial livery, which should have no design on the rear cabin door: The design was auto-applied from the front cabin door: This mapping error was discovered over a year ago and posted in Technical Reports (see link below), but with the addition of Creator's Club to TSW2, more players are now making replicas and custom liveries, so I wanted to repost here with a new thread title, so hopefully others can avoid any unpleasant surprises. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/livery-designer-gp-38-door-texture-bug.27139/
...well spotet, the rear cabin door isn't mapping correctly. This bug has been around for a while now. By the way nice eagle design!
It wasn't my design, but whoever painted the real engine 47 years ago had a unique idea. Other than the mapping error, my replica of it turned out well. You mentioned UV map in ur original post, so do u think it's worth the effort to submit a ticket to tech support to fix these mapping errors? Btw, ur new aviator-themed BR182 is excellent!
Thanks! Yeah the "Pilot's Wings" BR182 was quite fun to do. I think it's always a good idea to submit a ticket for the tech support, because it's a direct way to contact the development team. But it still doesn't hurt to continue posting bugs in the forum, because a lot of people look in here too.
It's like this with the 150 with the number being visible in custom liverys and same applys to the Cornwall 37.
When I made my 37706 in WCRC livery it was aggravating then cuz where the randomly generated number is is where I needed to put the number.
