I'd like to see some more "dirty" decals for weathering. Also more fonts and the ability to form words with letters of the same size more easily (a size gauge and an angle/rotation gauge too for when things are slanted). Also saving assets like logos to a personal library would be good, so you could use them on multiple projects.
Possibility to do own logos with up to 50/100 layers that can be then used as just one with a button on decalgroups where you can make this group as a logo/sticker. Also the possiblity to share these in the creators club
Different Logos used by Deutsche Bahn such as DB normal one, with white around it, DB Bahn, S-Bahn and all of the "Verkehrsverbünde" like HVV, Bahnland Bayern and VRR
It has been said in streams that your art team enjoys coming up with their own graffiti, how about let em make a few examples that can be used in the designer?
Came here to post this. The ability to save a layer group from one loco/car and import it to another would be amazing. Made a bunch of designs on SMH hoppers that I wanted to use in sand patch but I would have to rebuild it all from scratch. This along with more font options would be great.
How about the ÖBB Austrian Railways logo 1974-2004 the Pflatsch That way it can belong to DB BR182 MRCE BR182 turning them into the Austrian versions ÖBB Baureihe 1016 1116 when delivered from 1999-2003
A weathering tool would be fantastic A method of saving transfer designs or transferring them to other stock. I.E. trying to line up the lines specifically on a MK2 TSO and then trying to replicate it on a MK2 FO is much harder than it seems.
I would like to see The MTA ,Amtrak, GWR And London underground logos. I also would like to see American signs in The livery designer Because currently Only German and UK Symbols And Signs. More Variety In Fonts & Languages , Symbols And colors As well as Metallic colors Being able to make silver and gold. Last but not Least if Possible An extra 300 Layers please lol .. Thank you Dovetail Cheers!
Would be nice for DTG to send in all their licensed brand logos (train and product). I’m guessing you’ve even got Pringles nowadays
We also need railway alphabet and the BR logo too. To organise things DTG could separate them into further categories within the text and logo sections as not to confuse and make it a chore to select the right one.
Also the Big 4 logos and variants of them would be nice as in the future with possibly more locos coming out it would be useful along with the designs for their numbers.
This is modding or am I misunderstanding? I would like the functionality in game, rather than modifying UT4 files.
I would like to have typeable text so we can type it in instead of doing it individually. It would be a massive timesave.
To go further -- and this is slightly off-topic for this thread -- I would like them to add all standard image-editing UI functions and enable mouse selection like every other editing program. It seems like when they put this together they were choosing to avoid 20+-year old industry standards for dealing with layers, text, shapes, etc. No need to recreate the wheel here.
That's because the whole UI is tailored to deal with whatever limitations consoles bring. Not having a mouse and keyboard by default is probably the biggest limitation when it comes to UI design. While it's good that DTG makes things accessible by our fellow train enthousiasts who own a console, it unfortunately also means that making things work smoothly for a PC (which have a mouse and keyboard pretty much by default) is less of a priority. It is, after all, perfectly possible to navigate a console UI on a PC. There's plenty of buttons on a keyboard to make up for whatever controller-layout they used for the console players. It's certainly not ideal, and yes, it totally ignores any decades-old industry standards for navigating stuff on a computer, but it works... and I guess that's good enough for DTG. This is an issue that's not limited to the livery designer, as it happens throughout the whole game. Unfortunately, it's also not limited to Train Sim World, as there's plenty of games which have similar issues. There's a reason PC players hate the so called "console ports", because their whole interface is just... well... 'different'
A little screen that shows the size of that shape/letter. This therefore making it easier to edit the size of letters to match the size of other letters.
A text box which will after finishing typing, converts them all to individual decals again to allow for any adjustment in size etc
Some more decals for weathering. Specks of dust and squashed insects, streaks of rust and grime, marks from pantograph sparks, etc. would all ve really usefull in bringing liveries to life!
Would be nice to be able to use our own fonts and write text, e.g.: I would also like a way to add masking layers so we can make complex liveries on unpainted trains.
1. Sticker Editor & Sharing. Logos are created, saved and available to be applied elsewhere, as well as, shared with the community. (See official MotoGP19 game as an example of "getting it right.") 2. Eliminate Layer Limit. PC players can override, but not console users. 3. Reduce Default Font Size/Increase Weight. Current default size is too large. When reducing, fonts become too narrow/thin. We're painting trains, not water towers. So, either reduce current font size or increase the weight. Or, provide another similar set with much smaller size. 4. More Weathering Effects. As mentioned previously: 5. More Fonts. More fonts would be nice, but not necessary if #2. and #3. are accomplished.
Graffiti; i think adding graffiti to f.e. freight wagons would be an nice feature in the game and livery editor Weathering; adding more decals to make weathering more easier & nicer, we got few decals to do it but its not enough sometimes, would like to see more! Side decals; German trains has a lot of info on the sides of the train, it would be nice to have those decals in the livery editor to make the livery nicer Text; I think it would be nice that u can write text, choose seize, fond, place, colour,... so it'll be automaticly perfectly in a row without needing to struggle to get it perfectly placed
A BR Double Arrow would be great. It would also be good to see all the depot plaques as decals and the British Rail font
DTG Alex , Could we get the Eurostar Logo decal. It's very difficult to make and I'm sure lots of players would appreciate it being in the game.
Could we get the British Railways Logo that is on the Steam train in Spirit of Steam available to use in the livery designer please?
Just got the PCD F40PH-2CAT in the livery designer in TSW3 and it is so great, that you can paint a whole trainset instead of doing it individualy, so i can align my design on the whole set like the MU’s This feature would be so great to have on all passenger locos i dont think it will be so good on freight trains, since these always vary from car to car
Two thing that would be helpful would be railroad logos and an invert layer option. NS, BNSF H2, UP Flag, CSX logos would be nice. It takes soo many layers to make the logos by hand. The NS horse took up around. 80 layers. BNSF H2 font with the Santa Fe cross and the lettering took around 70 layers. And because you have to have the black outline. I couldn't even finish it without reaching the 300 layer limit! Also allow for an option where you set a number to appear on the number board on that unit. That would make the numbering process easier as well. And inverting layer would help the weathering process. For sure more weathering decals is always better too.
