This is a suggestion of a loco pack for the Brighton Mainline named "Southern Stars". The Class 455/8. 377/1(with different headlights), the 377/3 and the 377/6 The Class 455/8 was a train that ran Southern suburban services to the likes of Sutton and Epsom Downs. They were built between the 1980s and 90s and were retired in 2022 and were replaced by the 377/6. Because the Brighton Mainline route is set in 2018, the Class 455/8 were still in service, so it makes sense to include the 455/8. The 377/3 are a 3 car variant of the 377. During 2015, they mainly operated London Victoria - East Grinstead services. Nowadays, they are coupled to 377/4 units. During 2018, they still operated East Grinstead services, so we could finally see another variant come to the game, same with the 377/1, but with a different headlight cluster. The 377/6 were introduced in 2013 to operate Southern suburban services to many suburban destinations in London. In 2022, they act as the replacement for the Class 455/8. This would be an easy loco to make. This would be a great loco bundle to come to this route, it will increase the rollingstock diversity across the route.
I could go with the 455 but don't really see the point of the 377 in another guise. We already have Electrostar overload in the game.
A great suggestion. I particularly would love to see the 455 bring some variation to the Metro services on London Commuter, or maybe even for a newer route such as the South London Line. As you suggest, would really like to see the 377/1s with the older headlights so we could then see 101-139. I agree too with the addition of the 171 - this loco would be fantastic if they extended the TSW 2 ECW route to Ore so we could have part of the Ashford International services. Additionally, the 171 would be good for extra AI traffic, namely into Eastbourne on the aforementioned ECW, and the Uckfield services which would be seen on London Commuter around Croydon.
I think the 455 would be an amazing addition, but I agree with others that having a /3 or /6 isn’t the best choice. Potentially having a Class 73? Would allow for 73202. I know it’s not used much but it’s still there with the 455s in case they failed.
