The second of a two-part series of images captured during the West Somerset Railway standard scenario "L&Y 1300 Demonstration Goods", 1300 being the locomotive number, provided by Digital Traction with its L&Y Class 23 0-6-0 steam locomotive. As before, captures are presented in the order taken:
A scene from the Czech Republic - a CD class 810 railcar arrives at Lipova Lazne (it means Lipova Spa) as a CD class 742 diesel arrives from Hanusovice with a train of empty timber wagons. Seven will be dropped here and the remainder taken on up the valley. Another class 742 waits to carry out the shunting duties, swapping the loaded cars on the far left for the just arrived empties. Then (a bit like Halwill Junction) it will be all quiet except for the birds.
Love this shot. I do wish DTG had Eastern European Railway in their official list. I have found over the last couple of years, I haved watched considerably more Eastern Europe Railways on Youtube and find it rather enjoyable. This shot captures sometimes what I have seen there.
Mortu 5, thank you. The route is the same as I used Few days ago for a post but in the 25% not finished by the route authors so I had a bash myself and am pleased with the results. Dictionary and Google translate plus enough knowledge to know when Google is telling me nonsense can go a long way
Captures from the early phase of Easter Rail Tour 1963, another of the standard scenarios provided with CW's CR 812. For this express passenger run, we see it in polished BR livery. It's a L.O.N.G drive, around two-and-a-half hours if destination ETA is accurate. Much as I love long drives, I did not complete this one. Not yet. It's saved-in-progress for future completion:
A Metro-North M7 is heading from Grand Central Terminal to Croton-Harmon station during the morning rush hour on the Hudson Line: New York - Croton-Harmon route.
Nice shots from everyone this week. I usually struggle a bit with capturing German stuff, double well done! Looks nice, the arranged meets are great. Many lovely shots there Agreed I like its mood and there are some nice locations. It could use seasons, as in real life it can get green even. Not sure what I'd do in the shoes of DTG, on one hand getting someone to upgrade the visuals could be nice, on the other, it changes the look and feel. The Seebergbahn has been reworked like that. 1) EMD GP35 powering past workmen checking the signals (Ohio Steel 2) 2) EMD GP40PH-2B with a special exits a tunnel on a lovely autumnal day (Canadian Mountain Passes) 3) This maintenance-of-way train returning for a refill casts long shadows (Edinburgh-Glasgow) 4) A general gray Class 33 with a string of MFA wagons to be loaded at the facility near Stratford 5) The United Way SD40-2 with a DD35 descends to Helper with a TOFC set (Soldier Summit)
A Regional Railways Class 101 is doing an express passenger service from Manchester to Liverpool during a cold and snowy day on the Liverpool-Manchester route.
The whole route IMO could use a complete "Official" overhaul, as the route itself is dated pre 2008 (And the BNSF triple tracking of Cajon Pass). Alot of the route is very inaccurate to real life (The bridge at Frost in my photos is no where close to the real life bridge) They also could extend the route to include UP's yards in Yermo and West Colton. At least there is always Mojave Alpha to fall back on....

And a couple of shots of the CR 812 Class. Firstly, on the Dellyn Heritage Railway Museum Workshop Route. After noticing that the 812 was rather more nippy than I first expected, I decided to put her through her paces. On the Pyne and Warrborough workshop route, I took her on an express run from Newton-on-Pyne to Warrborough Regent Road. Speed limits were viewed as more of a suggestion, while trying not to derail, and I reached 69mph on a down gradient with 4 MK1s as a maximum. Despite this, the whole scenario was completed in 19 mins and 59s over the precisely 19 mile route, from the scenario loading in at 08:35 (in game time) to coming to a stop at 08:54 and 59s! So very close to achieving even time, even closer if I were to take off the time from the start of the scenario to when I departed. Perhaps I would have done it if it weren't for some speed restrictions at either end of and at some points in the middle of the route.
Nice to see the work of another CR 812 fan! I was initially going to ask where you got the LMS Crimson reskin for it. A quick visit to the CW website shows that it is provided with the pack, along with a gray livery. I somehow totally forgot they exist! I can't remember ever driving the 812 in other than black or CR blue livery. Then again, I mostly drive the 812 utilizing the pack's provided standard scenarios. <shrugs>
Spoiling my future surprise shot, did you know that virtually everyone has a BR Green Type 5MT? (Green Black 5 sounds so wrong) Nice to discover such surprises that's what makes things a bit unique for everyone. No, it's not the Green 5 on the shot just have it with a placeholder name in my collection.
If I’m honest, before today, I wasn’t the biggest 812 fan. Being mainly a southern fan, before now my only purchases from CW were the T9 and U class, and I only picked up the 812 because I noticed it was free. However, I am now very pleased with my purchase and would have been more than happy to pay a full price. The little loco has grown on me immensely and I’m sure I’ll get lots of use out of it in the future
Concluding images from the West of Scotland Lines (The Port Road) standard scenario, Easter Rail Tour 1963, Stanraer to Carlisle, provided with CW's freeware CR 812 0-6-0 tendered steam locomotive. A quite enjoyable scenario, I might add; long (circa 2h40m) and simple, being an express passenger run with no interim stops and decent scenery the entire way. During this rather hilly drive I discovered that the 812 operates best when driven as per the original manual, rather than the one supplied with the circa 2021 updated loco. Driving it the "old" way, I had no problem scaling the line's numerous, at times lengthy inclines. Water consumption was surprisingly slow. It seemed most comfortable maintaining speeds of up to 65mph on level track. Beyond that point, gaining speed seemed more effort than it was worth. In any case, line speed rarely exceeded 65, and was usually lower. Carlisle Station:
Very jealous of all your obviously high spec machines running TSC in what looks like 4k my poor laptop despite being quite new & relatively high spec is maxed out running TCS but I don't think I can get my shots quite as nice as some on here, nice work everyone
A Southeastern Class 465 is doing a short passenger service heading from Gillingham to Gravesend. Loco: BR Class 465 Route: Chatham Main & Medway Valley Lines
A few random shots: A 158 heading north from Exeter to Barnstaple. A T9 in action on the same section of the route. Since there is no real route in TS replicating any of the Withered Arm section of the SR, this is about as close as we can get. Even up until near the end of steam, the vintage T9s were put on rather demanding schedules in this area, often portions of the Atlantic Coast Express, such as non-stop runs between Exeter and Okehampton requiring average speeds of around 60mph. They were not nicknamed greyhounds for nothing, I had no trouble in getting 30307 up to linespeed of 70mph before long. A couple of 142s at Meadowhall on the Sheffield to Huddersfield workshop route. And a 377 heading north out of Portsmouth, I believe at Hilsea.
Images from Bournemouth Relief, a standard scenario created by GAD on their freeware Purbeck Line for CW's LSWR 700 class 0-6-0 tendered steam loco, seen here in unlined BR black. A (CW) LSWR/BR T9 express train passes as our 700 sits on a siding just prior to assembling its consist: Departing point-of-origin. As is too often the case with scenarios that start with shunting, by the time my train finished boarding passengers and pulled out of the station, I was already over a minute behind schedule:
Some diverse freight runs earlier in the week. 1) I love the SNCF livery on this FRET BR 186 — Bahnstrecke: Strasbourg - Karlsruhe 2) Trying to get past this GP38-2 Oil freight with my GE powered manifest — The Racetrack: Aurora - Chicago.

First of a several-part series of images devoted to the standard scenario Temsby Fishin', a freight run with shunting on The Temsby Branch Steam Workshop Route. I subscribed to this route long ago, then proceeded to forget its existence, due to it not appearing on my Quick Drive route menu. Turns out I've been missing out on a well detailed, scenically beautiful route! The train is powered by an RV Pannier 5700 class tank loco. (I assume RV to mean that it's the Pannier provided with Riviera in the Fifties.) Thankfully the scenario is not timetabled, allowing ample time to concentrate on capturing what I hope are appealing images while not making scenario-ending mistakes. All images were captured in Temsby, shunting and gathering wagons for the run to come. The first shows the train after having dropped off several wagons, now moving into position to begin its descent to Temsby Docks: All remaining images were captured in the process of traveling to and from the docks:
1) Stationary freight with a BR 151 and hoppers sidelined on Koblenz-Trier 2) A BR 442 (Talent 2) not far from Garmisch-Partenkirchen 3) Intermodal with a Class 33 on London-Faversham 4) Not-The-Horseshoe-Curves present a lovely winter scene on Altoona-Johnstown - offsetting the scorching heat outside 5) Kawasaki M8 arrives at Stamford with a Metro-North service
