Eeeeeeeek! So excited. I reckon £24.99... almost all of them are. The 411 was £29.99 though, and this seems to have had the same, or more work done, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's £30. I'm definitely still buying it if is though.
Yeah, I'm going to treat myself as well, even if it comes in at a little over 25 squid. I'm a work to live kinda guy, to be fair though!
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk" I is even more exciteder then you. I personally don't care what he charges, like yourself , if this is up to, or anywhere close to the 411 type standard it is going to be a stunner. I'm definitely grabbing it.
I hope they have the cross arm panto versions also named as that wording has me worried; They retained that panto type until around 1984, and all of them were named by 1977 as I recall. They were certainly all named by 1979, by which time I had seen every single one of them pass through Preston.
If you read #347 with the FB post it says "From the nameless cross-arm pantograph locos....." They appear to be doing every livery and panto variation I wonder if they will do 87009 in BR Blue?
I know... that's what worries me, as that could be read as meaning the cross arm panto variants were not named, when they were. I'm sure it will be there in BR Blue... the REAL question is, will it have the Stone Faiveley pantograph?
After re-reading that post, I interpret it as meaning "from the Nameless - through to named - through to latest ...." It is that last statement of "No stone left unturned" that excites me. I hope I am right in my interpretation, fingers crossed.
Hopefully it will be chosen by changing the config letter in the number - like the Class 86s On the AP Facebook page are some more pictures Including !
We'll know soon enough I suppose Assuming that they realise that 009 was made with a Stone Faiveley AMBR pantograph from day 1 that is. Remember, the guys making this probably weren't even born in the 70s, and there's only so much information freely available. Only us old farts actually remember this useless information That's not a Stone Faiveley AMBR though
Like 749006 said, there are some new photos of many external variations shown in a new post by Armstrong Powerhouse on Facebook.
Haha. Well for many people (except perhaps Pookey and Peter) this 87 is a grower not a shower. It brings a certain anticipation and excitement with it the more we learn
It's the most exciting Train Simulator launch.... EVER!!!111 Let's enjoy a trip down memory lane shall we? British Transport film from 1974 documenting the electrification of the final section of the WCML from Weaver Junction to Glasgow. Some great footage of the route and its development, and some fab footage of the 87s being built. What's not so great is the badly dubbed on "dialogue" of the workmen in fake accents by people who have never been further north than Watford LOL.
We've been through all that further up the thread. Well... it would appear that they left 87009 unturned, so I guess we'll see what else was when it arrives.
I meant I hope they have cross arm panto versions with names, as the wording was a bit ambiguous. They say they've left no stone unturned, but upon asking, it turns out they've not bothered with doing 87009 properly, so who knows. It would be a bit silly I suppose, because they were named in the mid 70s, and the pantographs were not replaced until around 84, so to leave out almost 10 years of history would be unlikely.
If it’s a waggonz product you can guarantee it will have all the belts and whistles they never leave anything out.
Nah... they just couldn't be bothered borrowing the Stone Faiveley panto from the 86EP. Tha's Waggonz fault though, not AP's.
Bit of a coincidence. Let’s remove it add a few little features and resell it again. The pacer is older than the 90 so why is that not removed. Just a opportunity to make more money.
They could remove the pacer but there is currently nothing to replace it - so why lose Sales when they don't have to?
Let's stop with the conspiracies shall we. It's probably because the are updating the Mk3 DVT due to the imminent release of the 87.
Well we have no confirmation from AP they are replacing it all they have said is it is getting removed because it is a “legacy” product which makes the pacer a legacy product so why is that not removed. Do you have proof AP are replacing it
No more proof than you do, but as they plan to modify the Mk3 DVT to work with the 87, it makes sense, and also, in that same thread you read, they do say that they intend to, but can't, or won't comment on long term plans, as things change. I guess we'll know when we know.
They did comment that their will be a payware upgrade for the 90. That was before they said they want to remove the 90 from the store.
They will HAVE to rework the DVT now, as you can't have the 87 in ICS and Virgin livery and no DVT for it, so it makes sense that they will upgrade it, and let's be honest... the 90 is showing it's age now, so not before time I say.
There's just not a great deal of improvement over the regular one that came with GEML (also AP). The textures are not that great, and it lacks features such as a working GSMR. Compared to the newer stuff like the 37, and 411 etc, it is definitely showing it's age. Even some of the enhancement packs are much better. It's due an update to bring it inline with the rest of the AP stable if you ask me. It's 9 years old after all.
I`m booked in to have my kidney removed on friday and sold on the black market along with one of my children!
Definitely not a day 1 buy for me. Maybe a day 365 in a sale at 40% off buy, because AP's products are getting too expensive for me to justify. If it's priced at £29.95 it will be a never buy for me.
have noticed this recently as well the prices are getting a bit silly and you seem to get less for more money giving what we are used to. Just my personal opinion but I agree with you fully it is not a cheap hobby. Shall await the usual names to appear who prohibit having a different opinion than them.
