You're welcome. In case you've not noticed yet, you can click on the actual coloured route lines themselves to bring up details.. it's not immediately obvious.
And the map has a number of errors where the map maker followed open lines Reddish Depot is one that comes to mind. Also some freeware routes are included but not others - like the Severn Valley Railway
I don't think it's intention is to actually be an accurate map, rather a visual representation of what routes are available geographically. I don't think anyone will try to navigate by it (shrug) If you know of a better "map", feel free to post it up.
That is true as it is not. But the geographical part is wrong - obviously not important to you but having a map that is correct is to other people
It's the way you say it, it would just do nicely to tell the creator of the map that you love what they've done and request if they could add SVR to it or other missing items and to thank them, that's what I'd do anyway. I'm happy there is a map at all, it showed me that one of the routes goes to hartlepool, which is great because I have family there. I might get the route add on now thanks to the great map. Otherwise I wouldn't have known about it.
RWInfo (on UKTS) used to be another resource showing potentially all of the routes on your TS install. Not sure if it is current - UKTS ID: 32556. This is quite useful for some routes: https://www.systemed.net/atlas/
RW info creates a version of what you see when you click on the 9 key in the game. The map linked above shows what TS routes are available in a map form
As you seem to know everything please tell me how to contact the Author and I can pass on my compliments of his work and give info on routes he might have missed.
If the map creator reads these. I just wanted to know if you will be adding the WCML North and Over Shap and maybe GARL
WCML North and WCML Over Shap are on the map already, and have been for ages. As for GARL why not message the author and ask him instead of resurrecting a 2 year old thread?
Read this by coincidence. I´m the creator of the map. As mentioned before the first two are included. Possible that they was for short time not visible because of redraw the lines. GARL (I think its the Glasgow Airport Link route) ist not included because I had decided not to include it for reasons. it gets updated, perhaps not immediately but it gets dont´know about it and find nothing on their page. I know about a Just Trains version (payware), but these not included because...read further down What you mean with open lines? Or examples for errors that should corrected? Before I published the map I made this originally only for myself as overlook over the routes I have. Over time I included others additionally and I thought why not share. I think you all can comprehend that there are a many many routes in the TS world: For Payware routes: I think most of them are included. Very little are not inluded for some reasons, for example because they are very old and not may fits todays standard in TS (early routes as the Bristol - Exeter, or a Avonsmouth route), or they are fictive (e.g Köblitzer Bergland, Brennitzer Linienstern) or extrem bad (the black forest journey route on steam). GARL is for me a little between: old, semi-fictive and I dont´have it, so thats why I have not included it by now. I will think over it). For freeware routes: There may be a lot of routes I don´t know about it. There may be some which are relatively old and/or fulfills (in my sight) not the actual standard in route/track building, scenery, thats may be a reason it´s not included. Others may be included because of special characteristics as a big network or highspeed. If some freeware routes have same route as payware I try to compare whats the better. As example: the East Coast Main Line is a special thing, where the payware is old and ...bad, but is improved by an freeware upgrade. So I colored it primary as freeware. In other cases I focus on the payware. Other freeware I know may not included because I have no information about whats included. It´s only a route from A to B or with branches... So I know about routes that are set in eastern region of europe or in spain. But have no further information or had no time until yet to further investigate if it´s worth. From today's perspective I try to include freeware routes that are: good made, worth it or have special characteristic (for example a big network). By the way, in the meantime, by clicking on a route I added some further information about where to where it goes; where to get and if needed some additional information about for example upgrades. For example: Bahnstrecke Strasbourg - Karlsruhe Streckenumfang: Karlsruhe HBF - Offenburg (via Forchheim), Karlsruhe HBF - Offenburg (via Ettlingen), Strasbourg - Karlsruhe HBF/ Offenburg Shop: https://store.steampowered.com/ Anmerkung: Streckenupgrade im Steam-Workshop erhältlich https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2627877549 Oh and by the way again: originally I had included in the same map TSW routes. By to many routes in TS that overlaps and more coming TSW, I moved them in a separate map. So .... TSW routes (includes layer for TramSim and HmmSim Metro): https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/de/map/tsw2-tsw1-tsw2020-tramsim_568485#5/51.399/-1.582 And if interested I have a map for MSTS routes (but mostly german, because I had mostly only german ones) https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/de/map/msts-ptp_381535#6/51.000/2.000
frank351981 I have spotted a few errors but I had no idea who to mention it to One in particular because it is near Manchester where I live. I have coloured in Red the wrong lines that are highlighted on the map - the place where they join is a bridge where one line crosses the other. On the second map the lines in Red are missing from the open street map Thanks Peter
Something I cant find on the internet... If I have mutliple routes, say London - Peterborough, and Peterborough - York, can I go straight from London to York without changing maps?
No, not unless someone joins them and makes it a new route. There is a joined version on ATS. https://alanthomsonsim.com/download...e-london-kings-cross-to-leeds-and-york-merge/ But it's a subscription route, and you need to subscribe to ATS to download it. There is a full merge of the ECML as well https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/the-east-coast-mainline-merge/ so you can drive all the way from King's Cross to Edinburgh if you want... also subscription content. ATS are also working on a full WCML merge as well.
The map is still there for all routes in TSC - just the URL has changed https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-neu2023_940885#5/52.335/8.130
Hi Frank, found some small things on the german side. - Rodachtalbahn ist missing the branchline to Gefrees from the Version 3.1 - Hannover-Bremerhaven goes up to Wunstorf in the latest beta version. - Small easter egg on the Rübelandbahn: Blankenburg to Börnecke acutally has track with full scenery.
There´s no existing line to Gefrees in any available maps, because of that its not included in the map. Wunstdorf will be added in some future, route is anyway WiP to Hannover. Börnecke: too small section without greater relevance to the included main route. In other Addons some branch lines are build to until some hundred metres , mostly to the first station and with scenery: But regulary there is no relevant use for them and in most cases only used for AI traffic. So they are not included (LIRR is one of those examples). By the way: theres for TSW and other TrainSims with modern graphic engine also a map: http://u.osmfr.org/m/950610/
You're welcome! Just in case you haven't noticed yet, you can click on the actual colored route lines themselves to access more details. It might not be immediately apparent, but it's a useful feature.
Just happened upon this post. I had no idea you did that. I remember once noticing edits to the Western Mainlines route and got a chuckle at the fractured bits at one point. Didn't know who to mention it to. Map seems to now be down, however. EDIT: Apparently the URL has changed. Time to mess with my browser history, mayhaps... ANOTHER EDIT: The line from Bedminster to the Portbury Car Terminal is on the Western Mainlines DLC. It's removed on the real map, but it seemingly existed at least in the era in question. Coincidentally, I saw something about the line reopening in the future with many stations opening. One already opened on the Avonmouth line that is not in the DLC.
The line to Portbury Docks is still in use as an Automotive/Biomass/Coal terminal When the TPE Mk5 stock was delivered to the UK from Spain it came by ship and was unloaded at Portbury
quite a few trains arrive at those docks, The northern 195s, The class 93 recently, Pretty busy dock for rail arrivals. Some good footage on youtube as well .
