It's a turn of phrase not an accusation.

Counter argument (and equally as pointless) show me where it says they agree to keep forever backups of your purchases.

It may be your opinion and of course you're entitled to it, I haven't suggested for a second that you're not, however when you share an opinion on a public forum you are inviting counter perspectives and dissection of your opinion, that's what forums are all about.

I'm not expecting you to take my opinion as gospel nor will I yours.

looking forward to this as well. The GEML is a great route with fast express and local services going across a fast length. The updated version will be a welcome one for sure when it is released in the future. And with the flirts in development as well it is bound to be a very popular route.

 

Very valid points as always. But hope you can see my point as well that we should really have access to downloads of products we have purchased if the “store” if you call it that is still trading online.
Yes the back up is an option but what Happens if you lose the drive the back up is on (which does happen) how do you get products you have purchased fully then.
Not disputing your points your points are perfectly valid and reasonable but looking at it from a different angle I hope you can see mine as well

DLC I purchased from AP I still have access to and, as pointed out, you can email the company to get the extra files.

 

But, you do have access to any products you've obtained from AP, in the Downloads area of My Orders section, I have stuff that I purchased in December 2009 still showing up, I can download them as many times as I like, so, unsure why anybody can't do that.
And I have several back ups on different Storage devices for everything I have ever bought since 2007 from everybody I have done business with, but, then again as an Administrator for a few decades it's what I was trained to do in real life.

And I'm sure all of these 3rd party Payware people are familiar with the Sale of Goods Act and the Digital Content and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, they have reputations to maintain and any impropriety would be shared across many public forum platforms by lots of customers, they just can't afford to do that.

You really should check these things first before posting...

 

All this talk about the AP Class 90 made me get it out and re-install it. I had forgotten how much fun it is blasting down the WCML North or Over Shap. If only DTG had not produced TSW and instead put its development effort into TSC; think how good it would be now.

Can you calm down boys? Don't make a fuss about this.

It is of course in your own interest to create backups. Being on the net since '95 I know what I'm talking about.
3rd party devs might close their business some day.

I keep all my TS stuff backed up, and rezip the installed contents of 3rd party DLC whose installers need activation in case their servers should close down someday.

And sarcasm is likely to fail on an internet forum where people don't really know, see and hear each other.

 

The sarcasm came over loud and clear. Just made no sense in light of AP's T&Cs literally stating to keep a backup.

 

I understand that Peter, you can only download extra stock packs, etc, if the DLC page is still up on his website, Richard has acknowledged the fact that folks still want these and will send them to you if requested, some peeps might think that if the page has gone then everything has disappeared into the abyss and can't be bothered to enquire, are folks too shy to ask questions these days, they are customers after all.
