Train Suggestion And Route Upgrade

    I would like to suggest the class 800 for the gwe route as it would fit well also I have a suggestion about gwe route that it would be electricfied all the way to reading as it would be good for electric trains thanks!

    That would require a complete rebuild of the entire route. It's not an easy task. Then it would require having to create new trains, etc. To get a 800, they would have to remake the route

    You would also need a Class 345 for the local services otherwise the slow lines would be near empty.

    Wouldn’t make sense since the route it set in 2015 and the overhead electric only goes as far as hayes and Harlington so we would need to switch from Electric to diesel after 7 mins into this route

    Iow isn't that long. It's 8 miles vs like 40 miles or something. There's a lot more work to do it for gwe. It won't happen for a while since people want routes in a different part of the uk instead of modernizing a route that was already done

    I think Paddington - Reading is around 34 miles from memory, maybe a bit more.

    According to RTT it's 35miles 75 chains

    We have had this debate before. Would be far more interesting to take GWE back to an earlier era, put in Valenta HST’s, Class 47 and 50 on secondary long distance trains and Class 117 DMU’s on the locals. We really don’t need more push to go and stop silent/soulless modern electric trains.

    We already got dlotgw so if were to get another upgrade it should be a modern upgrade
