I can't wait for the two year long wait for DTG to go over all the previous routes and get them to look half as good as that.

    Could it be the Semmeringbahn?

Possibly. I was Googling for tunnels earlier on Austrian railways but nothing I found matched the one in the clip.

I am definitely getting an Austrian vibe. It makes practical sense, because the OBB for the most part uses the same signaling and safety systems as DB, so Dovetail doesn't have to start from scratch. Also, OBB's primary locomotive is the Taurus/Eurosprinter series, closely related to the BR 182 which DTG have already modeled (the ACS-64 is a variant as well).

Since they are giving us the sound of an HST blowing by, that rules out the Mittenwaldbahn; but the main line for both Railjets and ICEs from Munich to Vienna runs via Salzburg, so that might just be the Wetterstein.

coul be! The point is: The mountain in the background matches the Zugspitze almost perfectly, which would indicate aomething like the Inntalstrecke which is close to the Brenner (around Innsbruck). I found a picture which shows us the mountain and the exact same catenary in the clip:
    upload_2022-8-8_18-54-13.jpeg

Yeah, the loco is German, but the route is Austrian!

not always! They also have round poles in Austria!

Another thing is: I think the hints like “experience the ambience” has nothing to do with the route; more with a feature of the game. My guess is: They improved the Audio of the game in every corner of the route, not only the stations like before

They look square to me. Just low resolution.

And the whole scene is very overexposed..

I’m sorry, I was a bit confused haha
I also think they don’t have any round poles in Austria, but the ones in the stream don’t look round to me; small misunderstanding XD

I get your frustration... saying that something that hasn't even been announced is a disappointment doesn't make a lot of sense but name calling doesn't help anyone, wether it's between community members or DTG employees.

Are there any third rail electrified railways in Austria?

Omg, it’s not 3 rail! It’s the reflection of the upper rail side! You can see it as the camera angle changes when the bird clip comes in!!

Pretty sure it IS third rail. You can see it being supported only every 6th sleeper tile or so.

Oh no, the “catenary poles are the wrong shape” posts have already started.

I’m going to watch the stream from now so I can see the clock count down to 0. Yay!

The Zugspitze is nowhere near the Inntal or the Brenner; it's on the Austro-Bavarian border near Garmisch.

I'm not convinced about the Semmeringbahn, because nobody is driving high-speed anything along there!

nope; look at the picture of the birds! There you can see that it is jot 3rd rail- I’m betting that it’s only a two rail route!

No! This is a safetyrail for the trackcurve.... It's to prevent derailment in a bigger way... The normal track is outside and the inside track is for safety... the railway curve is to the left so there is only right a safteyrailsystem.

Remember to fix the image. I'm quite curious now

The train at 1:21:45 sounds a bit like the Talent (Rh 4023 and 4024) that would fit to Austria.

Edit: After listening the train at 21:43 I'm very sure that the train is the Talent EMU

I can’t believe there is live chat on the stream now while it’s just a countdown, with mods and everything. The chat is quite hilarious as you can imagine.

Safety rails are on the inside though, not on the outside. And what appears to be third rail here is clearly on the outside. You can see the two regular rails looking similar and then the third rail being different (the most right one). And look at the bottom of them, they are supported only every 6th sleeper or so, just like a regular third rail.

This is very clearly third rail. Unless you are telling me regular rails are being supported only every 6th sleeper?

Now this stream has come out I'm starting to think that it's not going to be a completely new game but a rebranding/renaming and core update to TSW2

I do agree that what seemed third rail is in fact just a reflection, as you can see in this screenshot.
    Screenshot_20220808-195305_YouTube.jpg
The Catenary strikes me as something that you might find along the border of northern Italy and Austria or Switzerland. Although the EMU sound doesn't strike me as anything familiar, maybe the new TiLo? Either way, very Alpine Looking

I also ran it through Google Lens and only found very partial resemblance to some already released content of TSC, the RSSLO routes mainly, but google seems smart enough to understand it's a game, and hence, will not display any true images

Ah ok. It makes sense. I also found the route and did spot that mountain shape. I think this spot is more to the south west of Innsbrucke

Surprised nobody has really noticed the clouds actually being realistic and moving, as well as lighting reacting to it.

I have using google lens. It only correlates with other tunnel entrances, not any specific one.

Not sure. Catenary looks like 25kV. Italy has a very unique catenary design (3kV DC) which is extremely easy to recognise
    pista-e-catenaria-su-linea-ferroviaria-ad-alta-velocita-in-italia-aybnxc.jpg
If it's bordering Italy it's on the other side of the border.

    It looks 25kV to me.

    Indeed, UE5 confirmed ;)

It will be interesting to see if there is a day-night cycle because so far in 2 hours I can't see the shadows moving much.

The clouds are also passing in front of the mountain, so they are no longer just a part of the skybox.

    Cheers

You don't need UE5 for volumetric clouds.

Yes, should have been more clear, it ought to be on the other side, both because of the Catenary voltage, and the reluctancy of DTG to do anything bold with their content, thus, no Italy.

The background image used doesn't really suggest it's the currently teased German-Austrian route. That looks almost like english countryside.
