You could get away with alot with 90 miles in the UK. London to Peterborough (about 70 miles?) or London to Birmingham (Pushing it 100 miles?)

My guess München - Innsbruck ca.140 km ~90 miles. From „flat“ to mountainous.

I think DTG would start a riot if the mean length of the three routes was 30 miles xD

Ok so I was thinking, regarding the route on the stream, what we know:
    • 25kV electrification
    • Has to be near a significant mountain range (Alps and Pyrenees seem the most likely candidates) maybe not
    • It's not a dedicated high speed line, as it's used by small EMUs.
    • It's likely to be Germany maybe France, or in that "sphere of influence" because DTG.

    I have an idea...

This is not a complete route but a small peak what's included together...
What do we see on the video:
    eagles - America
    Thirdrail - UK
    German catenary - Germany
    etc etc

See what you can find... :D

Guys! I Think we won't have TSW3 yet, but a major update to TSW2, featuring a long alpine track (maybe cross-border, like 3 Country Corner by Just Trains for TSC). Both Swiss and German safety systems are simulated, and OEBB use PZB/LZB/ETCS also. I hope in a coral effort from DTG with collaborations with Rivet Games, Skyhook Games, RailWorks Austria and RSSLO. About rolling stock, I expect the OEBB version of ES 64 U2/4 and the Eurofima Coaches in OEBB configuration. As a bonus, even later the release of the route, they could add some typical locos and rolling stock, like BR 1144 with Austrian Dostos (there called "Weasel") or revamped Schlieren in CityShuttle livery, or the electric shunter BR 1063, for example. My extreme dream? Full NightJet trainset!

My thought is if 90 miles relates to a full route size surely they'd have to sort out the save game feature for that? Not everyone can spare the time to complete it.

To get back to the mountain, I also think it's Zugspitze looking from bearing 310. This would point at the Ausserfern railway but on the other hand I don't see any double-tracked lines in that direction nor an angle that would match the picture.

Have anyone considered that the scene might be a composite or just a diorama with different elements instead of an actual route location? Maybe we are getting something with that mountain and catenary (which is a valid combo) as well as another unrelated route with third rail and stuff.

I seriously hope it’s not high speed ☹️
It would be nice if it were 90 real miles, not whipping by at 300 kmh.

    jacob.davies1855 suggests:

The third letter of each word spells MGB. MGB (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) is a railway in Switzerland which is 89.5 miles long.

Not sure, TSW3 springs to mind, but It can't be that dull..

Edit: Seems they used it as a key to use the third letter of each word.

That was my first thought as well, depends if is hi-speed or not. Although it should be said the save game issues should be fixed regardless.

The OHLE doesn't match and the EMU seem to be going quite fast in the stream... but perhaps there is a section that looks like that

I think we are getting 4 Routes
The route in the stream should symbolise all 4 routes together

I am so utterly confused by this thread now, it's spiralling out of control, a speculation madhouse. I think I'll just play some trains and wait for official announcements.

Some are saying there is 3 or 4 routes in there. USA, Germany/Austria, UK, Swiss?

I made a theory that one of the routes appears to be Munich - Garmisch Bahn (Based on the clues that I've spotted so far) in another Thread.
    If you think about it, M = Munich, G = Garmisch, B = Bahn.
Based on the clues that I've posted in another thread I feel like this is 100% one of the routes coming to TSW

Edit: Quote from the other thread.

Indeed it is. All but the damn Zugspitze Bahn station which is non-existant in TSC, I hope it will exist in TSW.

Problem with that is that München - Garmisch is only about 50 miles. Unless they extend the route to Innsbruck, but that's still only 70.

Sure except... where is the tunnel? I can't find it on Google Maps. And it's only 100km long.

I do speculate that the "90 miles" Image is a UK route (as the stock image was from UK).
So it may or may not be associated with my theory of the MGB.

If I'm going to jump on the speculation bandwagon, I'll say that I doubt the TSW2 routes will be brought over. For one, it seems like a heck of a lot of work to upgrade everything - clouds, lighting, effects, dynamic scenary. Also, when DTG have released an entirely new game, as opposed to a core update (i.e. TSC > TSW2020 > TSW2), it's brought such significant changes that old routes are incompatible. Last time, we only lost NEC, but maybe this time it'll be judged to be too much work for the preservation team to convert everything (we're maybe already at the stage where it's too much work just updating the existing routes).

If they announced as much tomorrow, I imagine it'd be quite unpopular. As has happened before with the planned limited Preserved Collection support, and charging for Creators Club, DTG might have to do some damage control and backpedal on such a decision.

Hopefully, everything I've just written is completely wrong and the TSW3 announcement tomorrow gives us everything (realistically) that we hope for.

That's the major thing that boogles me. The section from Munich to Garmisch doesn't have a single tunnel.
But don't forget that we are not getting just a German route.
UK and US routes might be released too.

It's certainly not impossible that the older routes will still run as-is, just without the new features. Most of the TSW1 routes endured for ages with the old skybox, alongside TSW2 routes with the new one.

Think of it as being like running backwards-compatible XBox 360 games

Unless they are running it all the way down via Mittenwald to Innsbruck. There are definitely tunnels on the Austrian side
