Just drove a freight service with BR155 from Röderau to Dresden (6:33 a.m. start), and got halted by a red signal after Dresden-Mitte. The reason being a freight train heading to the opposite direction along the same track, resulting both trains being deadlocked and unable to proceed.
This is one of the finer points of a wrong track selection. Try spawning in on foot and be amazed how the AI finds a solution for this situation.
Quite the immersive experience, is it not? I seem to remember a fellow forumite solving this puzzle by pushing the freight train BACKWARDS the 11km to Coswig.
Indeed, that's what the AI is doing, but when you're in the driver's seat you can't do it. You will have red signals, which btw is authentic.

The solution is drive backwards to Coswig bear in mind if you have PZB you are stuck to 100 kmh 60 mph reverse max speed
