In this suggestion, i will talk about the South Western Mainline, running from London Waterloo to Southampton Central via Clapham Jn, Woking and Basingstoke, also featuring the Hampton Court branch. The line is roughly 70-80 miles, taking about 1hr 15 mins to do a full run from London to Southampton.

    ROUTE

The line begins at the busiest train station in the UK, London Waterloo. It then heads down towards Basingstoke and Winchester before reaching Southampton Central. Stations are as follows:

    London Waterloo
    Vauxhall
    Queenstown Road
    Clapham Junction
    Earlsfield
    Wimbledon
    Raynes Park
    New Maiden
    Berrylands
    Surbiton
    Esher
    Hersham
    Walton-on-Thames
    Weybridge
    Byfleet and New Haw
    West Byfleet
    Woking
    Brookwood
    Farnborough
    Fleet
    Winchfield
    Hook
    Basingstoke
    Micheldever
    Winchester
    Shawford
    Eastleigh
    Southampton Airport Parkway
    Swaythling
    St Deny's
    Southampton Central

The Hampton Court line branches off at Surbiton with an intermediate stop at Thames Ditton.

    TRAINS

The class 455 would no doubt be the most common train on this route, running commuter trains all across the network to Woking, Hampton Court and more. These workhorses have run the route for nearly 40 years. They mostly stop at all stations, though some services skip a couple of small stations.

The class 444s have been in service since the 2000s and run express routes to Southampton, and further afield to Bournmouth and Weymouth, and also on the branch to Portsmouth. They also run some semi-fast services to Basingstoke.

The class 450 is very similar in appearance to the 444, and runs semifast services to Basingstoke, and some faster services to Southampton.

    Layers:
This would really spice up Clapham jn on London commuter! 377s can also be found in Southampton.

Would love to see this! Would rather see it in SWT liveries with more variety in colour. Set in about 2017 when they took over the franchise. A 707 would also be fitting for local London services.

I'd like to see this in the 2010s with South West Trains instead. They bring back a lot of old memories from my time in Surrey.

Bring it onto TSW3 and speaking of this
These can be combined with each other to create a 9 carriage train front 444 rear 5 450

I suggested this route for TSW 3 too, but in the 1950/60s of the Southern Railway. Still excellent suggestion and definitely would like to see it in TSW 3.

No. I'm currently writing a route suggestion forum about that to base the route in 2013. They can however, use South West Trains. Mainly because it's a defunct operator, and this is also the same reason that Dovetail uses East Midland Trains instead of EMR.

Could there be possible Cross country DLC from Southampton to Winchester?

Not the most impossible thing to get the license tho.

Same here. I'm not buying a route that has an off brand operator. Even though we have the Class 484 on the Island Line not branded in SWR but still referencing that it sorta runs on SWR, that at least says it's the Island Line. Remember the MML route? The reason we use East Midland Trains is because it's defunct for one, and two, Dovetail wasn't about to create an off brand EMR because they didn't have their license, so they used EMT instead. I don't know, that's just how I remember it.
