What resolution and quality settings can be expected for consoles? Xbox One X, Series X 4K/HD toggles like TSW2?

It’s being looked into that future content may still be coming to TSW2, obviously with lack of the new TSW3 features

    but no concrete answer yet

Yeah, that was not meant as a complaint towards TSG, not at all!
I agree, this is most likely a decision made by DTG.

But that is the point, all routes it might work on will be for TSW2!
Certainly not for Kassel - Würzburg...
Yet you have to buy TSW3 first in order to play it on TSW2 routes...

Here a new dlc idea Eurostar, even if it not a good idea for a new dlc. Your adding train AI so you can always use a spare station for the train it’s not like all the stations at London is full. Then you could even do a France DLC

You said in the stream that you did not improve the drawing distance of objects and especially shadows. Could you explain more detailed why you made this decision? If it is performance related I would suggest to you to make an option available for those with higher specced PCs to make objects or at least shadows appear farther away. Because for me it looks extremely unrealistic if the shadows or cantenary masts dissapear 400m infront of the train.

Suppose I own ECW and the Class 313. Will I be able to bring only the Class 313 into the Training Center if I choose, without also having to download ECW into TSW3? And if so, will the 313 still provide layers to LBN, or must ECW be present in TSW3 in order for this to happen?

Also concerning ECW, since the new SEHS now comes with its own Class 66, will that one layer onto LBN in the the absence of ECW, or is the presence of ECW in TSW3 still required in order for the Class 66 to appear?

So, in theory, yes - when the decoupling is done. At the outset, we'll be focusing on TSW3 Add-ons, but the ambition is to do the same for legacy content too (of which what you mention both would fall into that category).

Layering will be the same as before for legacy routes/locos.

    1)When will the GP40-2 be reintroduced ?
2)Why not improved sounds also for the SD40-2?
3)When will the BR232 locomotive come?
    4)will adhession physics be improved?

So to continue on this. There is zero difference between the TSW2 version of legacy routes and TSW3 version. Saying it that way because I understand the weather system will be "core" rather than DLC

How about a bit of cash back for those of us on Xbox that own SEHS and SOS and want to Pre-order?

Will the old routes from TSW2 get the updated snow effects, or is it limited to the new TSW3 routes only?

Will the dlcs from tsw and tsw2 come with achievements?

Is mastery a part of tsw3? If so has it been fixed so it tracks and unlocks correctly?

Legacy routes will receive Dynamic Weather, with the TSW3 routes receiving the other improvements (such as snow effects).

This is because implementation is on a route-by-route basis, rather than a 'core' improvement like Dynamic weather is.

    They should do, yes.

And Mastery is part of TSW3, yes - the QA team will be checking the unlocking of the achievements.

(as a side note, sometimes updates do put Dovetail Live a little out-of-whack - if you sign out and sign back in again, I'm told, that should restart it, if people are experiencing issues after a game update).

Well, I mean they'll have dynamic weather, but insofar as updates go, on launch it'll be that and what Preservation Crew updates we can implement for the items currently on the Roadmap.

Shame you can't carry over the route medals then! I understand achievements are done by others, but if I've got 100 gold on a route and have to "start again" if my OCD (I don't have OCD but you get my point) requires it

SoS is getting a TSW3 version, hence the "people who own SoS on TSW2 will get the updated version in TSW3" they announced at the end of the announcement stream

will it ever be planned for TSW3 (or maybe later versions) to work on macos? like will that be considered for the future, or is it something that is just not possible/too much work to implement?

Will there be proper Union Pacific layers on Cajon Pass? If so, will they come from Sherman Hill or Cane Creek or both? Are there going to be spine cars carrying semi truck trailers? These are common place on high priority Z trains on Cajon Pass.

TSW3 DLC get "the snow and stuff", so the answer is yes for SoS, SEHS and the other two routes (and probably no for all the other ones)

yes. Mentioned in the FAQs anything you can play on TSW2, you can download on TSW3. Exceptions on release will be Bakerloo, Koln-Aachen, and Sand Patch Grade (and New Journeys Expansion), which will follow soon after as they require new store pages to be made.

Sadly as you've purchased through the retailer rather than through us, Add-ons don't transfer between platforms.

for TSW3-Compatible content, they will receive the dynamic weather functionality, as it's a core game change. Everything else needs to be implemented on a route-by-route basis, so will not have the additional functionality.

Not strictly a TSW3 question, but on the end of year Q&A Matt mentioned about making it easier to get 3rd party developers on board. Has there been any progress on this/will things in this area change for TSW3?

If I already own Southeastern High Speed: St Pancras - Faversham Route Add-on and Spirit of Steam: Liverpool Lime Street - Crewe Add-on in Train Sim World 2 then I only need to purchase the Standard Edition and the Spirit of Steam will still be upgraded and also have access to it?

According to the faqs the preservation team is being re-assigned to "Working on training center" In other words "Weve given up doing anything to the old routes"

    Yes, that is the idea.
You buy either the German or the US route, you get the two others for free as you already own them.
If you buy the standard edition (with all three routes) you will have SEHS anyway though.

We are effectively appear to be repurchasing the game with some extras.
    1. What has changed to require a new release of the game?
    2. Can the new/changed routes not be incorporated in TSW2 as a DLC or like DTG did with the Rush Hour release which was also pretty major?

They have completely reworked the lighting, weather, visuals etc, so not "some extras".

Depends on train i think as class 395 top speed is 225 km/h

    Question 1

Will the training Center be getting some time to be shown off on a live stream before release ?

maybe go into it to show us how to start up the ICE 1 as a demonstration

Edit: just noticed it’s planned for the 23rd

    Question 2

what was it to you as a developer or company that made you choose to do TSW3 over the option of using the new routes as DLC for TSW2 ?

    Question 3

should we expect a intriguing roadmap for September/Soon or sometime longer before new DLC ?

There's a thought. Dynamic weather allows for the conditions for rainbows, will they be a thing in the new system, following showers?

As it reads that the weather change everything 3 hours or something, only if it’s for 5-10 minute

All of the new features look great, and I think that they will add to the immersion. But there is one thing I'm really disappointed in, which should presumably fairly simple to implement: in the video that you showed from Dartford, you can see the 20mph speed limit signs. Why was it not possible to fix these so that the correct typeface was used? It seems like the default typeface from Unreal is still being used, and it can't be difficult to install the correct typeface into UE4. These things do make a difference, as you have commented to me on in the past. Even those who have very good route knowledge benefit from having the signs there, and it just feels like such a simple thing to get right - especially as it IS right in Train Sim Classic. So do you have any plans to correct the typeface in the future, and/or use it for any new UK routes? (note: you did do a similar change to use closer typefaces for the hex signs in the [I think] the Dresden-Riesa route).

What will be the status of Rail Driver with TSW3, beta or fully integrated with programmable buttons.
