Hi everyone, i watched DTG latest dev diary video and have noticed something that I do not think they meant to have in. The route is called Niddertalbahn. Let me know what you think to this news!
Yes this appears to be a leak of another German route in production. Those of us that use discord have known for awhile that Lucas and Ed have been working on another route as a 3rd party developer. Also known to be a diesel route which could accomodate a 218 or BR 628, Although the pic appers to be a 612. On a side note Ed has made a (UK) class 50 along time ago but currently doesnt have an appropriate route in development for yet.
Are they planning to make an RMV Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund route if so then is the first one to receive that treatment then later merged with the S5/S6 RMV S-Bahn Rhein-Main as a bundle called Naheverkehr Frankfurt am Main since Niddertalbahn merges with the S-Bahn Rhein-Main S6 line at Bad Vikbel. When approaching Bad Vilbel from the Niddertalbahn S6 DB BR423 420 430 will block you then your DB BR612 218 245 will go after the S-Bahn train. Or the other way around RB34 then the S6
...very well observed, it was either an accident or an intentional easter egg. The original route runs northeast of Frankfurt/Main. It's a regional branch line and crosses with the S6 S-Bahn Rhein-Main. In Bad Vilbel a single-track branch line separates without contact wire, which runs to Glauburg-Stockheim. This part is called "Niddertalbahn". It's just 31km long but the ideal environment for diesel locomotives or railcars. As it will be a pure TSW3 route we can expect volumetric clouds and the new lighting system. As there is also one tunnel, don't forget the eye adaption effect. So it never hurts to have eagle eyes!
As far as DTG are concerned, nothing is "accidentally" leaked! If it was, JD would be out of a job by now!
JD wouldn’t have been out of a job. Accidents happen and he didn’t do any real harm - if anything, it worked out well for DTG.
...rather the cat out of the poke (or in the background during the live stream) than having to be ashamed of it. Either way good news! Short secondary routes also have their appeal, such as IOW or Luzern-Sursee.
There was a hint of sarcasm in there as it's not the first time that he's "accidentally" let something slip. I fully understand that he's not the next Julian Assange.
