Now with TSW3 and with the new SEHS route coming out we know that route extension are possible. I’m always amazed that SEHS is more popular than Brighton line but I figured one of the main reasons is driving the 377 and 387 gets old fast. So if we add the 700 starting from london bridge would add much needed variety. We can also add the 378 overground service to west croydon. They can also add Hove station to bring more services. And finally bring the 455 would also add another variety to the Brighton main route. What other adds do you think would be possible?
I don't think they'd make three new trains for one route, especially that the 455s no longer run on Southern. But it would be nice to see some 5 car 377s.
Excellent Idea but if DTG makes Class 700 using AP sounds then it can layer from Rush Hour Train Pack NEC BML Riesa-Dresden to BML London Bridge Extension. For the 5 carriages Class 377 these can be 377/1 377/4 377/6 750vdc Third rail only or layered from WCML South Birmingham New Street to Euston 377/2 377/5 377/7 versions.
The South London lines would be a route in itself, with over a dozen stations, four tracks and a thousand runs a day over the lines. The 700 would likely layer onto BML and SEHS and could be used in any Orpington and MML route so would given some much needed "wider variety" without the need for repaints or rebuilds
