Arriva 143 601 is entering Newport, with a GWR service doing so as well. South Wales Coastal with a Class 143 Pacer.
4771 Green Arrow gets all the attention as she waits on a rail tour at the end of the '70's but otherwise it's business as usual in Newcastle this morning as Class 37s take empty HAAs south while 55002 Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry departs for Edinburgh. The Deltics had already been displaced from top link expresses by the Inter City 125s one of which KOYLI has just passed. I've tried to reproduce the famous view from the castle keep of the east end of Newcastle Central using The ECML (North) with Green Arrow from the Settle-Carlisle Specials pack. This is different from the image I posted in the Stations competition a couple of weeks back- it uses the same scenario but I thought, since you can see the keep's shadow so clearly, adding a figure on the battlements to represent the "photographer" would be a nice touch.
