So, when I was making a joke proposal about a TSW3 decal to be added to a real life C4 Gevo, I noticed something about this photo..... The locomotive in this photo is 4237, a real life ES44C4 on BNSF's roster. So I though they just picked a random number off of the roster, till I look a bit closer..... For Microsoft Train Simulator, the Dash 9 on the cover is BNSF 4723. (Also a IRL C44-9W, with a special decal on it) If you notice, the same 4 numbers are used in the road number, but in slightly different order. You think DTG did this as sort of a tribute to MSTS? Or just a random coincidence that the same 4 numbers appear on both artworks?
I'd like to think it was intentional, but probably a coincidence. Except for Matt P. And Paul J. I wonder how many people at DTG remember MSTS.
If you count the number of letters in Train Sim World and add the 3 it totals 16. Now add the digits of the train’s number together. Spooky.
There may be a few staff members that are still part of DTG that were part of Kuju back in the day, but probably not that many. Ok, thats even more crazy.
Matt P started UKTS a long time ago which started primarily for MSTS... I wouldn't at all be surprised if the cover is a tribute to MSTS, it's just too much of a coincidence.
I lt would be nice to get Matt's official word on it, whether it was intentional or not. Would be funny if it was a coincidence though.
Good question and it might be a throwback to some DTG staff who were part of Kuju the first maker of Train Sim Classic.
It's strange because when the 'preorder now' splash screen that is now present in TSW2 first appeared, it didn't make me think "I'm looking forward to TSW3 coming out", it just reminded me that I really, really can't wait to see what that explosion was in the Snowpiercer season 3 finale
Actually, Kuju was the publisher of Rail Simulator ( 2007 ) and Raiiworks ( 2009 ). RSDL purchased the rights to Railworks and renamed it Train Simulator. RSDL became Dovetail Games in 2013. I forget when they began calling it Train Simulator Classic. I think it was just earlier this year.
Incorrect. Kuju were the developer of Rail Simulator, which was published by EA. RSDL then bought the rights to Rail Simulator and rereleased it as Railworks.
