2 of my favourite British electric trains in one screenshot, the BR Class 91 (in this case the DVT end) and the BR Class 321! Sometime during 2013, An East Coast Mk4 DVT rushes by a First Capital Connect Class 321 picking up passengers at Welwyn Garden City. Locos: BR Mk4 DVT, BR Class 321 Route: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough
My favourite British shunting diesel, the BR Class 02, shunts an LMS Stanier Class 5 at the National Railway Museum in York to prepare it for static display. Locos: BR Class 02, LMS Stanier Class 5 Route: East Coast Main Line
The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway is my favourite Fallen Flag Railroad of the United States of America! In this screenshot, a Santa Fe EMD SD45-2 pulls a short but heavy coal train from Victorville to Barstow on a warm Summer day. Loco: EMD SD45-2 Route: Cajon Pass
Freightliner 86 heading into Garston with an intermodal AP 86 with AP weather on the WCML Missing link from ATS
86228 Blasts up the WCML on a Euston to Wolverhampton Service in the year of 1994 Class 86 EP, WCML South
Route: WCML Trent Valley Train: Class 350/ Class 66. A Class 350 meeting with my favourtie british freight locomotive the Class 66.
Route: West-Rhine Koln-Koblenz. Train: DB BR 232. My favourite german diesel locomotive the DB BR 232 creating some thrash on the mainline.
"BNSF manifest hauled through Williams, AZ" Loco: Union Pacific SD70ACe, BNSF SD75M & SD70ACe Route: Arizona Divide: Winslow - Williams
While the SD40-2 is nowhere near my favorite American locomotive (or even my favorite EMD) in real life, the Searchlight Simulations/Jointed Rail SD40-2 is absolutely my favorite American engine in the simulator. With excellent visuals, sounds, and physics the Searchlight SD40's only real competition is their AC4400CW. The Montana Hi-Line route is also arguably the best modern American route in game as well, having excellent scenery and being one of the few American routes with functional signaling.
2 of my favourite trains/locos which also happen to be in my favourite operator livery, GNER. 2 class 91 IC225 and 2 class 43 HST IC125 at Kings Cross, the London terminus of the ECML. Loco(s): AP class 91 and AP class 43 HST Route: ECML London - Peterborough
Not sure if this is favourite loco in game, or in real life. I am going for real life. 40130 outside Manchester Victoria as it runs around its train in order to haul it back to Liverpool Lime Street. Autumn 1976. Route: South Lancashire and North Cheshire - BR Blue Period Phase 5 – Warrington & Runcorn to Crewe
Route: West Rhine Koln-Koblenz Train: DB BR 155 My favourite german electric locomotive the DB BR 155 spotted in front of the DTG logo .
My last entry was my favourite loco in real life, but here's my favourite in game loco. It used to be the AP 37, but since its release, and updates, the AP 87 has become my in game favourite. It's just so involving to drive compared to modern stuff. The 87 holds a special place in my memories though, as I spent most of my later childhood on Preston station seeing these (sometimes when I should have been at school LOL), shortly after they were named, and before they had the high speed pantos fitted. I've seen every single one, and been in the cabs of almost all of them. 87028 hauls the 1S30 Euston to Glasgow and a dead 86228, shown here shortly after leaving Stafford as mist begins to settle on a late autumn evening in 2002. AP Class 87 AP Class 86 EP AP Mk3 A-B Coach Pack AP Sky & Weather Pack AP Track Enhancement Pack RWEnhancer Pro ReShade Route: ATS Missing Link Phase 4 Scenario: 87028 (86228) – 1S90 1730 London Euston – Glasgow Central (2002)
From the same scenario as Pookeyhead, not one, not two, but all three of my favourite TSC locos come together in this shot. AP Class 87, AP Class 86 & the AP Class 37 on the ATS Missing Link Route.
Being a child of the 60's, seeing and hearing one of these for the first time was an experience I'll never forget. Many a happy memory was spent aboard one of these iconic UK classics as during the late 1970s / early 1980s we regularly travelled from the West Midlands to holiday in Paington. Watching them blast along the coastal wall, for me was one of the highlights of our day trips to Dawlish................... (AP Class 43 HST VP on the Riviera Line)
A TransPennine Express class 158 carrying the Northern Spirit livery rolls through the countryside on a run from Manchester to Liverpool. Loco: AP class 158 (not sure which variant) Route: DTG Liverpool - Manchester These units in this livery are another of my favourites. I used to travel on these a lot between Doncaster and Scunny (Manchester - Cleethorpes services).
Hi all, decision time has arrived, as ever a fantastic collection of shots to chose from. After long deliberation I have decided to go with the following:- In 3rd place Paulc with this great shot of a shed climbing up the slope. In 2nd place and runner up Craigie-C with the HST holiday express. And finally in 1st place Blazin with the shot of the week. Just love this shot of a rare sight in TSC the diminuitive Class 02. Congratulations Blazin on a terrific shot, I hand the master key to your good self to take us all on next weeks journey. Also congratulations to everyone for contributing such amazing shots it is genuinely hard to try and select the winners. Good luck to all for next week.
