Hello, Having played both TSW 2020 and TSW 2, I have noticed that one thing is missing that would bring more immersion to the game, and that is platform announcements. For example "The next Train arriving at plaform 7 is the ten thrity train calling at Earling Broadway, Slough and Reading" I hope that this is planned and makes its way into TSW3.
what license issue they could just use one of their employees they dont have to get the real person. i think this could happen possibly
Excellent idea and for starters LGV uses Simone Herault German routes RRO RSN HMA Main Spessart Bahn Kassel Würzburg Riesa-Dresden Dresden Chemnitz and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen use either Alisa Palmer or Heiko Grauel. HMA Augsburg Hbf Platform announcement Aachen Hbf Heiko Grauel Problem is the copyright issue which also affects the Dostos Baureihe 425 422 & 612 announcer voice Ingo Ruff
Some sort of text to speak with an artificial voice (like we had on the Amiga) could be the answer. Though with maybe slightly more articulation than the monotone “Cylon” effect that generated.
Hello everybody, First of all, thank you for all your comments. I made this thread simply because TSW is supposed to be a Simulator. And in my opinion a Simulator should be as realistic as the real things and as I played through TSW2 yesterday, that was the only thing I found that was missing. But, thank you CowBoyWolf for educating me on the licenses. This is something I keep forgetting and so I just assume that they can o put whatever they want in the game. However, might they just be able to get one of their employees to do a voice over on the platforms? Or would this a Copyright breach? Thank you all for your comments, Anonymous
i think it would be fine if they used an employee no licensing breach as long as the employee consents to it
They could use the same employees voices for the Anouncements like they did for other ones that say “Smoking is not allowed in any part of this station” and “Please stand back from the platform edge, trains pass through this station at high speed and can cause turbulence ”. All they need to do is get the same people to voice slightly different anouncements. Once they get the licensing the could infact use the real voices. The station anouncements may even be easier to record than on-board train anouncements
For example here is ScotRails Track they realised to the public recently: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/172W6sXnvlr7UcNLipO8BTw417_KRz9c5
