Quick question guys (appreciate I should probably make a separate thread) - I'd like to get the 465 enhancement pack and have all 3 Chatham routes however do not own the DTG 465 Loco. Do I have to have this to use the pack? Seems like money for old rope otherwise!
Yes, you need the original 465. It's an enhancement pack, so requires the original in order to apply the enhancements to it. Whether it's money for old rope depends on whether you think the enhancements are worth it. If you just want the 465 for AI traffic, then perhaps not.
Thanks Pookeyhead, I thought it was the case, still I can also purchase the pack and wait for the DTG loco to go on sale
Next AP sale at Christmas. Next Steam sales around Hallowe’en at the end of October, Black Friday late November and the week before Christmas.
Even in the sale my wishlist comes to over £80 lol. Not even going to look at the cost without it lol
I know. I've built up my collection over time. The thought of buying everything in one go is frightening. I'm deliberately not keeping track of how much I have spent.
Cleared my AP wishlist for £30 but it's just added a load more stuff I now need to get the included scenarios to work!
Yeah well I've always waited for the sales and just do them bit by bit, i missed the last sale as I was away so still got a fair few to get, there's still more but cant justify spending more at the moment.
Chris Trains All DLC half price 29th Aug - 5th Sept https://www.justtrains.net/category...l+Sale+-+all+add-ons+half+price&utm_source=cm
Why do people think they need loads of stuff to make a scenario work when the train they will see is either in a siding or is going past you?
Because I like to do the scenarios as they were intended, rather than substituting it for something that wouldn't be time or period correct.
For me it's mostly that the stock sounds are often unbearable. Even bad sounds on AI can really put me off.
I can't agree more. I can't stand the stock sounds of some stuff. The 101 springs to mind. It sounds like you are going past a hair dryer.
Time to take a quick looksie, perhaps, since it ends today (almost missed it!). Meanwhile, for those trying to get out of the UK...
I think he meant replace the AP stuff with DTG stuff of the same type, not just random trains. As DTG routes come with stock, there's a better chance that most people have a DTG version of something they can swap out to.
Caledonia Works **FLASH SALE** 25% off select DLC using promo code "ACTS 16:31" Sale ends sunday night & does not include rolling stock or add-on packs.
Just Trains Union Workshop weekend sale until 12am Monday 12th September. Save on three items which are: Tohoku highspeed rail and mainline (Normally £27.99, now £18.99) The story of Forest Rail (Normally £19.99, now £9.99) CRH2A Highspeed EMU (Normally £14.99, now £9.99).
Be careful Steam lowest price for Forest of Rail was last time at £7.19 and for CRH2A Highspeed EMU was £4.99. Considerable savings on the Just Trains price. Tohoku route was £20.99 in July and could be less in October. The next Steam scheduled sale is in six weeks time.
Will there be a Bank Holiday on September 19th for the Queen funeral? Some companies have Bank Holiday sales. I wonder if there will be a sale?
“The Queen is dead. Save 30% on all products in her memory.” I mean, that is a bad sales pitch right there...
So will I. Have a few items I want from the next AP and SSS sales whether they be soon or Christmas. New Steam sale is Hallowe’en.
There WILL be a bank holiday that's now been confirmed, as for a sale who knows, that's up to the individual devs, many may see it as poor taste profiting off of H(er)RH's demise others would see it as a way of pointing out that life goes on and make the most of what little time (and coin) we all really have. I for one have a few items I still wish to get so if there is a sale I'll get them then, if not I'll wait until the next, no bother.
I doubt that DTG would have a sale for 1 day, on a Monday, and Steam are American, so, they won't have a bank holiday anyway. And this is a special day, it's not a normal bank holiday as such. Cheerz. Steve.
Until there were annual editions of Train Simulator released in September there were also DLC sales related to it, which probably would be around that time, but since the switch to TSC, I don't think there will be one. On Steam it definitely won't be related to the (unplanned) bank holiday, unless by a coincidence it was earlier scheduled to be going as some "special offer", or a weekend deal - starting on Thursday and ending on Monday, or a daily deal - between Sunday and Tuesday (or any other 2 days around Monday), or midweek madness - between Monday and Thursday, or even weekly deal - between Monday and next Monday.

Gonna hold out on this, I paid £14.99 for the tamper, something I knew I'd hardly ever drive but I was keen to support a new start developer so didn't mind, but now it's priced at £6.99 (£5.25 in the current sale) I'm understandably reluctant to jump straight in on the MPV.
Just a heads-up, the MPV will never benefit from a price drop like the tamper due to there being more than GST that need to take a slice of the cake. This is the only GST sale this year - I have other commitments coming up that will change the course of my future. I'm grateful to all that have supported this endeavour, but in terms of finances, GST doesn't make enough to survive due to a lack of interest in OTP as a general. GST still will be an ongoing concern for me, but sadly, it doesn't earn enough to keep the wheels rolling on its own. I should add, it's been a pleasure building these two packs and more releases will follow. I've found a way to make this a possibility through branching out in other areas with my time and resources. Train Simulator was lacking in on track plant and I'm proud to have filled that gap for the entire community. Thanks, Duncan
Well that was a bargain..if not necessarily "on sale". TSC Chinese Edition for £34.99 just gave me: Leipzig to Riesa. Riesa to Dresden. Birmingham Cross City Frankfurt to Koblenz. Guiguang Railway. Longhai Railway. Washington to Baltimore. And Tehachapi. None of which were in my collection and all for less than I paid for TSW3. Now where to drive first!?
*Sigh*... Fine.. I was feeling particularly grumpy and miserly with my last post, probably due to the fact I've just forked out £750 on my car and nearly £600 on the Wife's in the last two weeks. You should know by now I'll always support your work Duncan even if you haven't got the good sense to make a 47!
Do you Know if there are futher discounts on these products for AP subscribers or is it 25% discount for everyone.
https://alanthomsonsim.com/product-...ng-stock-train-simulator-2021/on-track-plant/ This is the ONLY GST sale this year, so take advantage!
RSSLO have an Autumn sale ending 2.10.22 up to 30% off https://www.rsslo.com Not so good now the pound has dropped.
The big drop is against the USD. GBP's drop against the Euro is smaller and certainly not the worst value it's been in the last five years.
Literally just seeing this now after dealing with COVID for a week. Yay. Still not sure if it would be worth it anyway as I haven't even driven the other one yet. Also a bit disappointed that ATS in general doesn't seem to hold any sales. Like, ever.
