I’ve just had a thought. When players who have preordered get early access the routes won’t be their full representations because any layers that rely on other DLC won’t be there. Not a huge issue but one to be mindful of when playing during the four days. It may also skew any performance issues that will later arise when all the AI layers are unlocked on installation of the required routes. SEHS will have some playable services missing during early access too.

 

Otherwise just do Scenarios and Tutorials

 

Well the main reason for early access will be to assess the sound, lighting, graphics and any new features such as dynamic weather, plus all the rivet counting of the routes, locos and rolling stock.

It's a bit of a gamble on DTG's part.

 

I am also thinking about it. So the first and the only complete route to play in that day could be perhaps Cajon Pass.

 

Are we sure that TSW2 routes won’t be available for download into TSW3 for those with early access?

 

Yeah, i had assumed early access meant full functionality as no limitations were mentioned.

A clarification from DTG would be appreciated.

 

Cajon has layered UP traffic, but not a lot of it.

 

I do remember that at some point we were told that no TSW2 content would be available in TSW3 until Sept 6. Whether that was in the FAQs or a livestream, I can't recall. I would not except it to be there earlier, but if I had preordered (I did not), I would give it a shot anyways. I do agree that the experience won't quite be the same without TSW2 layers.

 

According to this post (slightly out of date given the info about the TSW2 core routes which now will be available on launch day) it seems clear enough that prior to 6th September, SoS will be the only TSW2 route available in TSW3, and only to Deluxe edition customers.

I wonder if CRR will be fully playable with new lighting and a new weather system \o/ I mean if the trains will be fully visible now

 

Would be nice if it got banking com and proper US loco headlights, but they are never going to happen.

 

Neither Clinchfield nor any other legacy route will be getting the new lighting

 

All routes will have dynamic weather (not sure whether that includes lightning though)

Apart from that TSW1+2 routes (minus SEHS technically) will have same lighting as before

DTG are very quiet lately.

 

Training Centre has a lot of unused rooms. I would have thought they would be used for training PZB etc, for example walk in and sit down to watch a PZB tutorial, Matt is sitting in corner in shadow doing a PowerPoint presentation.

 

Bank Holiday in Britain. They should hopefully be back today.

I reckon the Training Centre will be yet another grand idea from DTG soon to be forgotten.
