Get ready to master the machine and battle the elements on September 6th with Train Sim World 3, available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and Epic Games Store. Read More : https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/severe-weather-warning
All very impressive, can't wait to try it out. I wonder; there must be a " library " of weather effects that are cycled through. The bigger the library, the more " random " the weather changes would appear, I would imagine. The wind effects are a bonus I wasn't expecting. And, I wonder if the dynamic weather effect is route or geographically specific. That is, is the Califirnia desert weather pattern library different from that of Southeast England? I don't think Barstow gets any snow, normally and very little rain, although up in the higher elevations it's different. Looking forward to seeing it on my own 4k display.
Just wanted to point something out: Coloured cars And also: Empty spaces between them! Might be time to implement the shorter 20ft containers now, that would bring the container-trains to life! Also: A freight train on day time on SKW? It wasn’t in the timetable, although it would be realistic; so are there freight trains on day time runs?
I have a 4k display but unfortunately my graphic card is still outdated GTX760. Hopefully, the quality will still be good.
Yes noticed the colored cars in Sams Training center stream last Tuesday?. Also of note was the intermodal wagons I remember seeing with some containers on them others in the same consist didnt have any on them. regarding the freight trains. I remember seeing the time-lapse after lukas's SKW stream and they were at Wertzberg (spelling) and there were freight trains there during the day time (but I think they were AI ones and went along another route off the map). When you compare the 3d Clouds from TSW2 to 3 the difference is immense. It's amazing how you think something looks good until you see the upgrade. I think this is as close to real life as we can get with clouds now! They're beautiful, Nicely done!
Especially interested if lightning and snow kickups saw some polishing since the SKW preview. Bolts of Lightning were never hitting further away in the distance and also appeared inside tunnels. Snow kickup seemed to reset with each car creating this ugly flickering effect. New features are great, but getting them half done causes more harm than good as they break immersion heavily when there are problems with them.
The lightning effect still looks puny and insignificant with very little of the sky being lit up. Whenever I’ve experienced lightning in real life, the sky is lit up everywhere to varying degrees.
If you a 760, you could play according to the specs on low settings at most. Why you want a 4k monitor with the 760 is beyond me, as pushing 4k and the game eats your frames. You can get 2nd hand 1000 series for less then a hundred of the dollar/euro/pound these days.
1. The lightning appeared in very close proximity to the camera in the first preview streams. This makes it hard to actually "lit up the sky" and gives birth to awkward moments of near misses with the arc of light. Is the lightning not actually happening in the clouds? 2. Is the reduction/capping on passengers to 200 a side effect of anything newly introduced? We don't expect than in a new, more capable version of the game to see a feature be toned down. It is a feature highly promoted under the name of Rush hour passengers that seems to have died almost one year later!? What other features, if any, have faced a similar outcome?
I love the haze/mist effect on the lower areas of dense forest areas. Makes it feel so alive and realistic looking
Or, will we see Mary Poppins? Her half sister Sherry Bobbins won’t appear as she met a tragic end over Springfield.
If all these dev blog series screenshots are vanilla, I am impressed. Ain't no post-effects? Some of the pictures look fantastic. All things seem to be well blended alltogether. This is of course all from PC 200% screen percentage, where AA works fine but still IMPRESSED. BR o7
Wondering how the snow will effect Cajon Pass, IRL, the only place that sees snow out there is the Pass itself, both Barstow and San Bernardino barely see any annual snowfall, and previous routes like Peninsula Corridor never got snow due to its elevation.
U have all these weather updates yet u still fail to address that snow on the trains look awful, white spray paint is not snow , the tech u have today u can have 3d and realistic looking snow on the trains nut instead u choose a route even sega mega drive was capable of doing , u need to look at snow on trains and give it a massive overhaul , I can't drive a train in the snow if the affect looks like white spray paint on it just ridiculous and unacceptable
Does anyone know if all of these new features going to be added to the rest of the route from TSW 2 and the Preserved Collection along with the Rush Hour Route? if not I believe their priority should be bug fix first and adding all the new features into all the previous routes which i think Adam's Team is going to be doing.
No they wont be. TSW 2 routes as they are now for TSW 2 will be the same as they are. They will not be updated. there are avbout 5 more routes that need to be released from the pres crew updates and then thats it.
when you mean by 5 routes, do you mean new one, or an extended ones? cause i don't remember hearing this also which region are they?
they are the TSW2 routes that the preservation crew have been working on. I cant remember them off the top of my head. They will be released after TSW 3 has been released. Not sure how long or when.
From the roadmap here are the remaining things the pres crew are working to complete Note: Preservation Crew updates will continue after the launch of Train Sim World 3 [TSW2/TSW3] [Tiny] Scottish Commuter [TSW2/TSW3] [Small] Hauptstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck, including timetable update [TSW2/TSW3] [Medium] Rhein-Ruhr Osten [TSW2/TSW3] [Small] 2022 Bakerloo timetable (600+services) [TSW2/TSW3] [Small] Long Island Rail Road [TSW2/TSW3] [Huge] Peninsula Corridor [TSW2/TSW3] [Huge] Oakville Subdivision [TSW2/TSW3] [Tiny] LGV Mediterrannée
I really don’t want to ask a dumb question but To DTG, (to them, our opinion may be different) in what logical financially driven world would they creat a new paid game with additions we don’t have and then backport for free into a legacy product. TSW2 is, as of tomorrow, historic. Soak up your last few preservation updates and never consider this question again
Here is what has been posted today With the launch on September 6th, we can confirm that the remaining improvements will be going into game, including: New Bakerloo Timetable Peninsula Corridor Preservation Crew update [huge] Rhein-Ruhr Osten Preservation Crew update [medium] Oakville Subdivision Preservation Crew update [huge] Cathcart Preservation Crew update [tiny] Long Island Railroad Preservation Crew update [small] LGV Preservation Crew update [tiny] 2 new Luzern-Sursee scenarios
Yes into TSW3 presumably. They have been promised for TSW2, though. Those players who don't purchase the new game are also entitled to those updates.
I do like how they’ve been transparent in declaring it’s going to launch with a scenario where the train doesn’t work. Am I missing the point of the game in that one?
Only the unpaid beta testers who get it tomorrow get the broken scenario apparently. Those of us sensible enough not to pre-order it should get a working train by the 6th (or so they say!).
