Brightline is an intercity passenger line in east Florida between Miami and West Palm Beach, with future extensions to Aventura, Boca Raton, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Orlando. Currently, the route has a top speed of 79mph, but with the extensions, the speed will be increased to 110-125mph. The Brightline services operate on tracks owned by the Florida East Coast Railroad. Even the freight services operate at 60mph since there are minimal grades and heavier rails and infrastructure. -Locomotives for Base Route: -GE ES44C4 in Florida East Coast "Champion" livery; FEC's ES44C4s have been modified to use Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), and FEC runs the engines in pairs back-to-back sandwiching an LNG fuel car. -EMD GP40-2/GP40-3 in FEC blue livery -Brightline Siemens SCB-40 Chargers; Brightline SCB-40s are run in back-to-back pairs with 4 Siemens Venture Passenger Cars in between. -Rolling Stock: -Intermodal well cars (empty and loaded) -Hoppers for limestone services -"Juice Train" Reefers -Other FEC freight cars -Siemens Venture Passenger Cars w/ full interiors -Possible DLCs: -FEC GP38-2 -FEC SD40-2 -FEC SD70M-2
FEC no longer uses SD70’s in their fleet. If DTG backdated it to when they did, brightline wouldn’t be in operation
