I suspect that they may have been, but ambient sounds ie the tunnel bridge reverb track sounds eg platforms at speed level crossings alas won't be.

IMO They can solve the problems putting some virtual object at the side of the tunnel (or the other things) and setting up the trains to read this one and change for the moment it's running sound.
Didn't know if it's a possible solution but why not suggest?

Now hope someone in DTG read this and leave some word about it

Funny that DtG can have reverb at Brighton station but not in tunnels?

From what Maik has said, creating reverb and stuff causes a lot of issues which is why tsw lost it. And the point that it's really expensive to use audio middleware like fmod or anything since commercially it is really expensive even though it could improve audio quality. He's even tried telling them about improving sound I think but ended up not working cuz of the above issues

Still beggars belief that MSTS had this from the outset 21 years ago yet a modern product cannot achieve it!

I thought we were supposed to have a stream about the audio? What happened to that?

In the recent stream, the lack of reverb in tunnels really stood out, especially on the horn. How can this be overlooked? Several games I play with good spatial audio use Wwise. If cost is truly a problem, raise the price and make the better product.

We are hoping to reschedule the Audio stream after launch, keep an eye on the streaming schedule.

I sometimes do worry that DTG are really out of their depth with a game this complex, when it comes to so many basic things broken, not implemented or removed.

Guess we'll have to stream it individually on September 2, after we've paid for it, of course.

Actually, it doesn't matter that much, since I'm not expecting any major environmental sound improvements, like tunnel reverb, bridge ambience or larger dogs barking.

That’s quite disappointing that it’ll only be shown AFTER launch. Sort of defeats the point really.

I guess during tomorrow’s gameplay we’ll have a bit of insight as to what the audio is like.

What do people think of the other sound such as the clickety clack or joint sound now that the game is out? Is it a major improvement over TSW 2? What do you think they need to work on?

  16. I certainly have noticed big sound improvements on sehs.

Are people really making excusing for a game in 2022 not having good audio.
Games have had good audio for over 20 years now. There is no excuse for it in 2022. Its a multi million dollar company.
TSW is a Early Access game they are asking full game price for. Then unlike Early Access you dont get the full release for your entry price you will have to buy it again and again and again. Perhaps tsw 5 they will figure out how to use Reverb.

Yeah. They’ve tweaked the 395 sound. Especially in cab. You can hear the train operating now.

If they continue with the "every route its own game" approach like in TSW2, i fear future DLC routes and locos might end up again with worse or missing sound...

And there are still countless sound issues to fix in TSW2 locos

  21. Also junction/joint sounds are a lot more realistic I think.

The reason for poor sound in TSW is a legacy priority attitude from primarily a certain dev, who said that they aren't and won't be focusing on sounds, we are now living with those decisions and attitudes.

The train running sounds cut out randomly, it really ruins immersion for me. It still happens in TSW3. How are these things are not picked up by the team during production? It's shoddy work.
