Now that TSW3 has its own tab on Steam, I've been taking a look now and then. Today, I spotted this notification: This seems to imply that there will be only one "tier" of screenshots in TSW3, but will it be in a normal or high resolution format? And in what obscure location will those screenshots be buried? (Please note that I'm not trying to create a firestorm about this -- just musing while waiting for September to arrive.)
These are your normal steam screenshots, not the same as the ones taken with CTRL+F12 where the same normal/hi res options continue to work. This is all the same as TSW2. Matt.
Thanks for the reply, Matt! Of course, it leads me to another question: will both types of TSW3 screenshots go into the same folders as those taken in TSW2?
Do you think experienced PC players will be able to just copy over their save game (profile), scenarios and liveries even when you won't be able to get the profile transfer working in time or do you see some bigger challenges with just copying them over?
Being / Not being able to transfer profiles is the main thing preventing me from Pre-ordering at the moment
yes the profile files themselves haven't changed, even if we don't get it in the game you can manually copy them to the new folder.
Surely it would be easy to give the game an import function that copies a TSW1 or 2 save game? It would certainly solve a lot of complaints with saves not moving between games.
Has DTG given an official statement yet about why they don't use Steam Cloud for saves? Or any of the console cloud save services, for that matter. Cheers
Thanks for all of your comments, Matt. I've tried using both F12 alone and Ctrl + F12 in TW3, but cannot figure out where the screenshots of either type are stashed. Help? Ah-ha! Elementary, my dear Matthew! Taking a clue from the storage folder for TSW2 Ctrl+F12 screenshots, I checked This PC > MyGames, where I found >TrainSimWorld3>Saved>Screenshots>WindowsNoEditor.
In your equivalent of this folder (assuming Steam/PC) C:\Users\MattP\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld3\Saved This is where CTRL+F12 shots go. For Steam shots, go to the library page for it on the Steam client, on the right hand side down a bit there's a number of sections like friends who Play, Achievements etc - one of those is "Screenshots" and should have a "Manage my XX screenshots". Click that and then click "Show on Disk" to get to the folder - that's where F12 shots go.
Wow -- you were too fast for me: while I was editing my previous post, you provided the answer I wanted. "Super-Matt" strikes again!
