In a nutshell, I want to be selective now of the TSW2 DLC I bring in to TSW3 and only download the stuff I actually play. However, I still want access to layers afforded by loco DLC if a route can use them. Would I be right in saying that because locos have now been separated from their home routes to go into the Training Centre I no longer have to have all the DLC installed to access those locos and units. How does it work? Are the locos and units now listed as separate DLC on Steam? Thanks.
I don't think the older dlc has been separated. They do it from now on. And look what they can do for the older dlc
I would also like to know exactly which TSW2 routes and Locos I need to fully enable all the time table layers for TSW3 SEHS, Cajon, and SKW. Is such a list available somewhere?
Well they definitely said it in a stream, but can't remember which one. I think it was in the introduction stream
DTG JD, Are you able to answer this question? If it’s already been answered then apologies, I’ve missed it.
For TSW2-related content, they will continue to be connected as before. Route decoupling is something we'll look to implement with upcoming TSW3 content first-up.
So will all the locos that live in a TSW2 DLC layer into the training centre? Or will they simply not appear in the training centre? Or how is this going to work?
Eek, Ok. A shame but it is what it is. Is there an official list anywhere of what stuff needs to be installed to get which layers on which routes? Just to be 100% clear, aside from content that is bundled with routes, individual locos purchased as DLC (like the Class33 for example) would still require their base route (WSR in this case) to be installed to be useable in the game? Thanks
That is correct. We started working on a 'this works with this' graphic, but it's a longer-term project as it's pretty intricate - so, at the moment I don't, sadly.
It’s a bit of a minefield, granted, but it would definitely be helpful to have one at some point. Thanks all the same.
So, for layers: In Cajon, I know we need Sherman Hill for the UP AI. For SEHS, we need LGV for the “bonus runs” and SOS for the rail tours. Any other timetable layer DLC? Is the 101 on SKW? I realize there are a number of substitutions, such as freight locos in SKW and SEHS. How about the 406 for SKW? ECW on SEHS? What else am I missing?
Blinkin’ heck, over 85GB downloading. Thank God for fast internet and Steam’s fast servers! This is the problem. So I need to have LGV installed (although I never play it) to get a layer on a TSW3 route. It’s a heck of a lot of storage space for nothing really. Oh well.
It is disappointing to not be able to uncouple TSW2 routes from the loco DLCs. But at the same time, the core routes (from both TSW2 and 3) being treated as DLCs is a very welcome change since it allows me to also get rid of them if i dont want to play them. So, this is so far what i managed to put together in regard of which dlc i transfer and which one wont. New TSW3 routes: Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Würzburg TSW2 routes transferred to TSW3: Southeastern Highspeed Island Line 2022 Spirit of Steam Harlem Line Tharandter Rampe London Commuter Nahverkehr Dresden Cathcart Circle Line Peninsula Corridor Great Western Express Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr Long Island Railroad Rapid Transit East Coastway Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen London Underground Bakerloo Line Previously uninstalled routes returning from the grave: LGV Méditerranée Routes that wont be in my TSW3: Cajon Pass Boston Sprinter Northern Trans-Pennine West Somerset Railway Sand Patch Grade Previously uninstalled routes that will stay dead: Arosalinie Ruhr-Sieg Nord Tees Valley Line I think i may have even gained some disk space considering Boston and the two freight lines are fairly heavy, so i am happy with that :p
