As a Grumpy old Yorkshireman, I like a bargain. Just grabbed TSW3 Standard Edition for PC from CDKeys for £17.99, theyre also selling the Deluxe version at £22.99 - (note: their prices shown on their main search result pages are higher (lists tsw3 standard @ £22.99 and deluxe @ £44.99), if you click the version you want, in the full game details it shows a lesser price, which is the one I ended up paying)
Thank you for this information. I bought early access for my Xbox but was going to wait for a steam bargain price in the xmas sales, so bought it now. Great Price.
How on earth can they be selling the standard edition for less than half the Steam price? I always said it was overpriced but it's taking the urine when you can get it that cheaper already. DTG or Steam care to comment?
I doubt DTG will be happy these key reseller sites are mentioned here... They are not always legit and often more if a grey area. Some times these keys later get blocked by Steam for example
As a fellow yorkshireman, I salute you. I recommended you nip down to the boozer for a pint to celebrate. You deserve it. (I was going to wait for a sale, as I have TSW2 on multiple platforms, but I have also just purchased )
While most deals websites/forums generally consider CDKeys "legit" and "legal", it's still a grey market site reselling keys that they buy for real cheap. As far as I know, CDKeys's methods are unknown to the public, so no telling how they're acquiring the keys cheap enough to sell at that low of a price.
Hmmm, this has me a bit interested, but this 'Standard' Edition, what would I get with that? I already own SEHS and SoS in TSW2, I'm not interested in the USA route but would settle for the new German route. How would I choose which one I want?
Standard gives you Cajon and the Wurzburg route plus upgraded SEHS and SoS. Oh and the little Training Centre track. Still cheaper than the Steam price for the starter pack of £30.
I’ve bought from CDkeys off and on for years, as far as I’m aware theyre well established and legit, the versions (standard and deluxe) were not available until today afaik, well after Steam DTG release/early access. There are plenty of dodgy sites though, I’ll agree, but I dont consider CDkeys one of them (no affiliation either!).
There is a German Bundle which is slightly cheaper than the Standard It comes with training centre and Schnellefahrstrecke Kassel Wurzburg. I think it is £30 (Rounded to 2 s.f.)
seems like a pricing error, as the Xbox version on CD keys is still £48.99 for the deluxe, a whole £ off. Nice one on your bargain
Well for £17.99, I've decided to delve in, got 120GB to download so I'll put it on pause for now and let it download tomorrow whilst I'm in work.
Until this afternoon the deluxe version for the pc was about the same price as the xbox version and the standard version for the pc was listed at £22.99, but actually NOT available to buy as it said ‘no keys available’.
I got the deluxe edition of TSW2 on launch day for £22.99 due to a pricing error on steam. Does lightning really strike twice?
I'm not endorsing them, but I've spent a *LOT* of money through cdkeys and never had a problem. And unlike some of the other "shadier" key shops, they don't inflate the price at the checkout with several obscure fees, a pound for this.... a pound extra for that.... There are several keys shops now selling keys for TSW3 Standard at less than £20, and a couple of them selling Deluxe for less than £25. The other plus with cdkeys is that you can use PayPal to pay. There are online key shops I wouldn't want to be giving my CC details, and of course, they only accept CC and not PayPal. Just sayin'......
My PC download is taking ages. Says 171gb so will be leaving it on overnight. Anyone know why it is such a big download? Didn’t take long on my Xbox!!
Depends on your internet speed. Here in the back water market town the fastest I ever get is 20 Mbps took me the best part of 18 hours
Just tried and both versions fail to purchase. Tried deluxe then standard versions and both show the lower price but after putting in the purchase i then get an email saying the purchase was not successful so looks like they've halted the offer. ***EDIT*** I've bought it from ENEBA instead. Got the deluxe version for £26.
Thank you for responding. Yes I have nearly all the content. Didn’t realise it would also download your DLCs from TSW2. I live in a very slow broadband area that’s why it will take a longtime. Should be completed by the morning tomorrow.
It wasn’t originally supposed to. The plan was to populate the list of owned DLC in your Steam library and allow you to tick and download at your convenience.
I can confirm as I have also currently downloading (Steam, PC) that you can tick enable which downloads you like to install - this is from my own library and shows the DLC selection when you right clikc the game in your library then go to Properties -> DLC while installing.
It does now Alex but it didn't on release day or immediately after, resulting in the huge chunk of 80Gb or thereabouts downloading in one hit. Water under the bridge now.
Green Man Gaming is offering 20% off for TSW3 and the Deluxe edition using their XP points scheme for those that use the website regularly.
Alex the same with me. I went to the DLC section quite a few times during the first eight hours of my download yesterday afternoon and it only showed the three included routes with icon pictures which was amazing. After another eight hours when I got up at seven this morning it showed a list with ticks in each box and the pictures had disappeared. It took a few more hours for the routes I own to appear only as each one completed. 20 hours in all for nearly 172gb. Not had time to play yet as I have been watching the progress on TV following our Queens sad passing.
I gifted a copy of TSW3 to a friend. He's never had any earlier versions of the game. I was trying to figure out how to get him a bunch of additional content to play with, for the lowest price. £22.08, gets you 10 additional routes if you haven't got any earlier content entitlements from TSW2 or TSW2020.
