    Sorry for the bother, but could you run us by what they all do more or less?

    For those that want more of a 'challenge' whilst driving in direct sun, I recommend downloading ReShade as that'll enable you to use the 'Ambient Light' filter. It basically adds flares (which are taggable if you want to change its intensity) which you'd normally see when looking into the sun.

    I also recommend adding r.GTAO.SpatialFilter=1 to your engine.ini to go with it.

    What it looks like enabled:

    Within Reshade after selecting TSW which effects package do you then install? Just the Standard Effects?

    Could I just confirm before I go any further with it...

    When you say you installed all the effects packages presented to you, Do you mean you just went with the two effects packages that are selected by default by the app? Or did you tick all the other boxes and install all of them?

    I ticked all the boxes and proceeded to install all of the effects.

    Cheers for that. Didn't want to install everything unnecessarily.

    Which settings are for the better looking game but at the same time with lowest performance hit?

    Everyone’s setup is different, so my advice is to just play around and experiment with what you think looks and performs the best.

    Hello, do you know any commands to reduce the brightness of highlights? Can do it with Reshade but it costs performance.

    Edit: r.EyeAdaptationQuality=0 done the trick.

    There are no commands to increase or decrease light sources within TSW.

    Sexy londonmidland ,only just come across this thread. Will give it a try when TSW2 has finished re-installing.
    Many thanks for making these settings available.

    I just tried these with the Ambient Occlusion addition, and I have to say it looks amazing. Thank you for providing these information! Now I can enjoy the game even more.

    Been using this for a week now I've tweaked the r.GTAO.FalloffEnd setting to 50 (from 300) as things where a bit too dark for my liking even during the day and the r.GTAO.SpatialFilter set to 1. Here's some of screenshots, definitely looks much better now imo.

    The problem that's always been in this game is black does not exist. It's replaced with grey

    Skylight intensity set to 1 seems to have worked quite nicely to eliminate some of the darkness in daytime hours. I need to do more testing, but a run on HRR which is usually one of the worst offenders was actually quite pleasant. As regards it making the night brighter, well that suits me anyway I hate pitch black.

    You still have to wonder, why the hell these settings aren’t in the ini file by default. It’s almost as if DTG don’t understand how the game engine works, even after all this time. Got to wonder if the same is true of the sounds, almost like they are too scared to delve into advanced settings and stick with a limited default of the UE engine.

    Pretty cool tweak, thanks for sharing! Definitely makes a nice little bump up in visual quality in TSW3.

    Anyone know of any shadow draw distance tweaks we can make with engine.ini? I've tried the distance scale one but it doesn't actually increase draw distance. I know this may just be a hard game limitation, but ya never know what secrets the .ini files may hide ;)

    From what I've read the shadow draw distance is hardcoded so only DTG can change it and they are reluctant on doing so as it will have a massive hit on performance.

    A slider then? I never understood the approach "people with potato PCs/consoles couldn't run it, so we stick to the Y2K graphics".

    try these engine.ini settings I found from some helpful users here. the key one here relating to shadow distance is the r.DFDistanceScale=10, which affects the "distance field" shadows. unfortunately only some of the objects in TSW3 cast that type of shadow, but it DOES still help immensely:

    r.Shadow.FilterMethod=1
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096
    r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2
    r.Shadow.TransitionScale=2
    r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=2
    r.Shadow.CSMDepthBias=0
    r.Shadow.CSMShadowDistanceFadeoutMultiplier=0.1
    r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.005
    r.DFDistanceScale=10
