Please post here what your profile picture is and where it's origin is. Mine is a picture of a Class 380 on Platform 3 at Ayr.
My Profile Picture comes from my first Time in Scenario Planner in TSW2 with one of my favorite Loco in this Simulator. The DB BR 182 on Ruhr Sieg Nord.
Mine is a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket taking off from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida! I‘m a huge space fan and chose this picture back when I joined the forums as a relative newcomer to trains. I also have similar pictures on other social media accounts and (physically) on the walls of my student apartment. If I had to choose a train-inspired profile picture, I‘d probably select one of the earlier ICEs (1-3), a DB BR 612, 182 or 101! Or maybe the 72 Stock tube train? Lots of possibilities!
My current one is grayed out due to the unfortunate events of the Queens death but here we can see 35028 Clan Line on the British Pullman to Bath.
Mine is a br Green 47 leading the northern bell consist with a newly painted west coast rail class 47 on the back on the auchinleck to Aberdeen belle At Kilmarnock
I took mine at Locomotion in Shildon, County Durham. It was built as part of the NRM but now I think both are branches of the Science Museum. Locomotion was originally intended just for use as additional storage but someone realized that opening it to the public would help the NRM fulfill an obligation to keep a certain percentage of its exhibits on display even if its out of the way location wasn't expected to attract many visitors. Turns out though if you build a railway museum beside the world's first modern railway in the world's first railway town people will come. Who knew? The A4 Pacific is Mallard- usually to be found in York but, in 2010 when this was taken, she was moved to Shildon to allow building work to be carried out IIRC. The Deltic prototype has been at the museum for most of the time since it opened apart from a couple of years at the Ribble Steam Railway in Lancashire. The APT-E has been a centrepiece since opening day- the museum's design was influenced by the need to accomodate the complete four car train.
Mine is an Arrow III EMU at Princeton Junction the stop after New Brunswick NJ where I got off the Arrow III in 2004 from NY Penn toward Philly and Washington DC on the NEC and also the stop before New Brunswick NJ NEC Boston Providence Bound via NY Penn New Haven. Also the Arrow III was the first train that Introduced me to US Main Line
I'm a big fan of s-f. Dan Simmons' novel Hyperion is in my hall of fame. One of the main antagonists there is a creature called Shrike. In Polish translation, Shrike is Chyrzwar. Another phonetic notation of the word is Hyżwar. I globalized it a bit and it turned out to be hyzwar. HyzWar. This little project of mine is in the queue to be completed. HW is an abbreviation.
Mine is my Lego MOC of the Prussian EG 547 (later E 91.3 47). More (German) info can be found here. Edit 10.05.2023: My current profile picture is a photo I took of 45041 ‘Royal Tank Regiment’ at the Nene Valley Railroad. I got to drive her in a diesel freight driver experience.
I don't mean to shame anybody but my pick is the mighty class 121 bubble car especially in BR Blue. (jk) I can't really explain why but just think it is iconic. The only trains to mean as much to me would be the HST, Mallard, 117, 47 and steam of the 1820's.
Fellow SF fan here. I know this probably isn't the place but I love every Dan Simmons book and story I've read. My favourite of his novels is Phases of Gravity which is... well I'm not sure what it is. No momentous events, hardly any plot and no substantial speculative element but I devoured it. (It's also the only one of his books I'd lend to my mother without qualm and I lent her The Silence of the Lambs!) I now return you to your regular programme.
I like Fallout. I like meta shout-outs to classic cinema. Vault Boy riding an A-bomb like in Dr Strangelove just works on so many levels...
well mine is the trim from the 1998-9 Everton football kit I made this image myself and it seems to be embedded somewhere from an old blog tech (Gravatar on wordpress) so it appears randomly on some of my social media profiles.
Mine is of GWR Castle Class no. 4079 Pendennis Castle sitting idle at the Didcot Railway Centre on the 30/6/2022. Here's the full photo.
Used to live in Didcot a few moons ago. When I lived there it wasn't great but is improving nowadays, unlike Chatham it seems. It was on TV recently as a real deprived area.

I don´t get quite your point?! In my book this goes way more back (yes, old battle horse), think which DR BR 6-axle replaced this loco? Yes, the DR BR 250, later BR 155. And it never was called "Krokodil", at least not in our rounds. We called it "Eisenschwein" - Iron Pig (there was also a MZ motocycle with that nick name, but that´s another thread)
Don't know how to post my profile picture, but mine is a class 66 just about to pass through Langley on the Great Western mainline
My profile picture is a photo of Czech Railways class 560 unit that I used to ride on when going to the university or visiting friends. This specific unit was named "Grey Wolf" because, in the past, it used to have a different colour scheme.
It was where I’m from. Granted, Krokodil is usually used to refer to the Swiss’ locos in my parts but it’s quite common for the E 94s as well.
My point was that the DR BR254 was also used in West Germany with it being called the Krokodil DB BR194 that's why I'm familiar with that name since I used to collect Marklin Model Railway Catalogues
I've just updated mine. Mine is a photo of a ScotRail Class 156 on the West Highland Line at Dallmally that has broken down. I used that good opertunity to get a good photo . We were stuck there for hours until going back to our original departure point. Just a good chance for some photos really
My new one is 34046 Braunton (West Country Class) at Eastleigh on the 18th September during its tour to Chicest er.
My new profile pic is of a Class 385 at Edinburgh Waverly. Taken on the 7th of August 2022. Class 385 by TSW Nathan posted Aug 7, 2022 at 5:16 PM
My profile photo is from a base graphic image I did for my model railway's 40th anniversary in 2020. I began modelling this freelance Canadian Prairies railway in 1980 and have been at it on & off all those years. This is also the time I purchased TSW on disk (Mar 2020) for my birthday and began playing this cool game. I have enjoyed it ever since and now am enjoying it even more with the ability to create my own freelance equipment in Livery Designer. It's kind of like model railroading in first person, though still not real life. Although I have done that as well back in the mid 80s working for the Central Western Railway in central Alberta, Canada.
Mine is an australian (NSW) 81 Class diesel engine in it‘s 1980‘s SRA „candy“ livery. I grew up in Sydney and saw these locos in these colours alot as a kid. They still operate today with Pacific National and the class is celebrating 40 years of service this month.
This is my current picture i use. It is a LNER Class 800 (Origin of Photo: Google Images) I decided to change from my original first image as I had just getting of this Train after a November 2021 Day trip to Edinburgh. It was my first time on a train in about 3 years (not including metro to Newcastle central in order to get to it) (last one was pacer before, and before that my last train was in 2013 (Euro Tunnel train that pulls the car transporters) Trains aren’t very efficient means of transport to where I live and go on a general basis. This was my original profile pic, it was a concept design (I believe) for HS2, I watched a video on YouTube and grew a fast liking to it so I used it for the profile pic.
My latest and greatest pfp in a Network Rail NMT photo from Wikipedia as they are the best liverys a 43 can have and they are so unique in every way.
My pfp is the intercity 225. I don't know what station it is. I just like intercity 225s and found a good picture on google images
