I’m messing around with weather in TSW3… I wanted to do a run on Koln Aachen where it starts on a clear winter day with snow on the ground and then go from there with dynamic on. That seems impossible with the current dynamic weather settings. If you pick a clear winter day, there’s no snow on the ground so you’d have to wait until a snowfall starts. If you pick a day with snow, there will be snow on the ground but it will also be actively snowing so the sky is overcast. The only way to pick what I want is to go into custom weather and increase “snow level”. There is a preset called “winter clear” which is what I was going for, full snow coverage but still a clear sky. BUT, if you pick a custom setting that is what you’re stuck with for the entire run because it disables dynamic weather. Currently when you pick dynamic weather you only have the option of the presets for start and all the sliders are locked. Maybe there is a reason for this but it would make sense if we could use the sliders for more options and to have that preset if snowy ground but clear skies. Granted I’ve never been to Germany but here in Canada when it snows that snow will stay on the ground until temperatures warm up (maybe next spring) so even sunny clear days start with snow accumulation if temperatures are below 0 for weeks.
ACTUALLY… maybe I was just misunderstanding how the menus work because I think I found a solution: 1. Switch to custom, select winter clear which has full snow accumulation but clear sky (or whatever setting you want to start with). 2. Switch back to dynamic. Now the sliders are locked again but the initial setting is locked to where you put it in custom. 3. Start game: snow on ground, dynamic weather seems enabled. So seems all good! But this thread might be helpful for others.
