The BR 187 received a big improvement patch such as the sounds and AFB and so on. Has anyone noticed any changement and if so how does it sounds ? Can anyone make a video if possible please ? I’m on PS5 and we can’t get the 187 for now
Thanks for the link. The sound is atrocious it’s like the locomotive is asking to end his life it doesn’t sounds like the 187 at all
We are aware of the issue, we are now working with Skyhook to investigate what's happened. We will update when we have news.
Oh god... I just hope it's fixed before it comes to PS5 (But it probbaly won't be for another year...)
I’m not gonna lie I lost some hope on some cases especially with Skyhook. I really hope the sound is corrupted or badly mixed but how on earth someone at DTG gave the green light and haven’t said no it doesn’t comply with our standards
It’s quite funny, I was just watching the “ramagani” stream (which is advertised by DTG and he is a TSW3 ambassador), he was testing the 187 on HHL and he had to quit the game after about one or two minutes, as the sound was so bad that he could not stand the it, as it made his head ache (his words) He is actually a real train driver… This says something about the quality of this add on
This all goes back to the point that people are not testing the right things. Does it make a sound? Yes. Is it the right sound? Not applicable. The fact that it is so obvious and jarring just emphasises the point.
Different people. I'm not saying that DTG's testing system isn't dysfunctional - it is - but what you have described is a correct description of QA. The asking of "Is it the right sound" is the province of beta testers.
Yep, a typical test would be stuff like lever functionality, « does lever X work as expected » etc., not subjective questions like « does this sound like a BR187 to you »?
But isn’t this a simulation game? Isn’t the correct sound part of the whole experience? So the way I see it QA and Beta testing are mandatory. And that is something DTG fails at consistently. And before anyone says anything: yes Skyhook made this but DTG made it possible. They could have said no to Skyhook. But they didn’t.
There just is no Q&A for audio. TSW is plagued with audio issues as long as I'm playing it. I always have the feeling everyone making this game are listening to a streaming service during testing. I hadn't expect the sound to be this bad as I didn't hear any problems with the original sounds but this is just ridiculous. Why is there no Q&A for audio? It's as important as a good-looking train.
As long as it works, it's good. Look at all the times there were audio related issues on other locomotives and stuff that were released.
And that is the problem with TSW because it's really not good when the audio is broken. If the audio is broken that means it doesn't work.
Well, this is the first time I’ve uninstalled a dlc because of the sound. Tried it for a while, but I simply can’t stand that sound. It’s awful
Thanks for the info see if the sounds were sorted on the 187 it would be a great freight train for loads of german routes i drove a full route in it and i finished it but i knew the sounds are pg way say it mucked up
Either way Skyhook, does not deliver. Their BR 187 content is almost a year old on consoles. The problems concerning graphics, gameplay, sound and achievements/trophies still exist. Now, I don’t work in the commercial sector, but even where I work if you do not deliver, or underdeliver, it’s exit for you. So yeah. Exit Skyhook and compensate your customers. Although. Never mind that last comment. We’d probably wait for an eternity to get that done.
It is playable on PC in its current state but perhaps it is wiser to wait for the new sounds to try to enjoy. BR o7
It's DTG that handles the releases so it's DTG who is to blame. Sure Skyhook messed up the sounds but it's DTG that released it. The problem with the sound is so obvious that it should have been picked up immediately. Clearly the sound was muted whilst testing this build.
I’d like to 100% it too. But on console it’s not possible. And it’s been like that for over a year now. If I knew in advance I wouldn’t have bought that turd of a DLC. It’s double sad because I like the BR187.
Good question and yes exactly! You do realise it’s taken them nearly 12 months to get it fixed right? Let that sink in. Almost a full year. That’s unacceptable no matter how you look at it. And then we also need to talk about lights, sounds and other bugs which are all mentioned in this thread and in the “broken achievements/trophies thread”. Which also haven’t been fixed yet. Did I mention this has taken them almost a year to get fixed without result!? This is extra sad because I like the TSW games and I like the BR187. I was looking forward to it when they announced it. But I can’t ever under these circumstances recommend this DLC or any other made by Skyhook because of this. And to think we all paid for this DLC. You don’t accept a faulty car, a faulty phone or faulty pants. Why would you accept a faulty DLC?
No updates since the last update. It's Christmas break right now so they won't be in the office. No communication other than they are aware of it and working with dtg regarding audio but don't expect anything to happen soon. We know how long they take if it ever happens
Make sure the cab is activated using the switch on the back. You'll know it's on when the cab lights turn on. Then you set the headlight switch to auto. Then you go to the mfd on your right, press 5 i believe, enter, then it'll show you a picture of the train with buttons to turn on lights on each end. Check what cab you are in, press the corresponding button twice and then press enter. And turn on headlight switch. The tutorial also goes over it
Recommend completing the 187 tutorial again as it explains about the headlights - should be easy to understand after a while.
Is there a way to turn off the lights if you activated them on the wrong end of the loco? (Preferably from within the mfd menu, not by deactivating the cab) I've only managed to choose between headlights and taillights if I select a loco side.
No worries, I recently started with the 187 again and had the exact same problems with the headlights!
I don't understand how you can stand the sound of the 187. I've tried it a couple of times and had to stop after a few minutes because it's really unpleasant. And I understand even less how the developers could create such an aberration and release it thinking they had done a good job.
Eventually some people get used to it after hearing it for a while. I kind of just ignore it cuz nothing I can do about it lol. Can always mute the game too
I've never heard or seen a 187 in real life, so I can't compare - while this doesn't bother me, of course I'd want the sounds to be realistic as possible. I like the 187 as it's a nice freight alternative to the likes of the ubiquitous 185 in TSW - but that's just me.
