You had a bank holiday today in UK? Okay, I didn't know that. Then we will see what happens tomorrow.
it was unscheduled obviously as it was the queen's funeral today (Monday) so most of the uk shops and places have been closed
Thank you for the explanation. Of course I was aware of the funeral, but not that it was a general bank holiday. In the spirit of this day: No hard feelings and I am sure we will figure this out eventually.
Today's update on this thread doesn't have a single word for us: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsw3-state-of-play-20th-september-updated.58987/
Sending a support ticket doesn't do anything either. I've been directed to that thread from my support ticket.
My ticket got me the following reply: "Please note that the team at Epic has experienced significant delays in setting up the entitlements for add-ons which were purchased as part of a bundle. Furthermore, we are chasing the Epic Game Store team on a daily basis for updates, and when the issue has been resolved we will update the following forum thread" that is mentioned above. So at least they appear to be onto it.
Yeah I figured this is not a fault of Dovetail but rather Epic Games. From what I understand their system just is not setup very well to handle this kind of thing.
I don't usually post on the forums, but I just wanted to let DTG know that this is currently my biggest reason for not buying TSW3. A few months ago I bought the British starter pack (Class 20, 31 and TVL) and I can confirm that when I look at the TSW3 store page these DLC do not display the 'in library' tag unlike my other TSW2 DLC. I'm sure the team is aware of this issue - but as this pack specifically hasn't been mentioned yet I thought I would let the devs know. I refuse on principle to pay for an 'upgrade' that takes away content I already own and DTG should know that this issue is costing them sales of TSW3. This issue doesn't even seem to be mentioned on stream despite being well and tuly 'game-breaking' along with breaking the promise that DTG made saying that "all DLC except NJXP would be available for lauch" on two platforms now - and we don't even get a timescale for this to be fixed! I undertstand that the problem is with the Epic Game Store, however it does seem like DTG don't seem to take this problem as seriously as others; I would expect an issue of this magnitude to be adressed with more than a single line update whenever they remember it exists. It does seem like Epic players have been abandonned at this point
I'm not sure DTG are bothered about EPIC players. Making it possible to import a profile from TSW2 to TSW3 still isn't available for Windows store or EPIC, AFAIK. But it is possible on Steam. The moral of this story is, PC users should not buy DTG software on anything other than Steam if you want the software to actually have features and be supported.
I don't think so, it would be a discrimination. I believe the problem is in the Epic side, not DTG side, just like PS5 64GB limitation. It's simply not DTG's jurisdiction.
If you need an answer. Tag JD and ask for one. But I’m sure the lack of an update is because there isn’t any new news. I don’t believe for a minute that Epic users are being ignored by DTG. More likely Epic being slow.
I think the problem is when we buy a pack, there is possibility Epic system not recognize it, so the team arrange the entitlement manually. All my previous DLC apart from TSW2 Core Routes shows up at my Epic Library. TSW2 Core Routes might be recognized as a pack/bundle, that's why they're still not shows at Epic Library. I bought all other content individually.
Not sure that is the case for why it isn't possible to import a TSW2 profile into TSW3 if you purchased the game from EPIC. That's separate to the DLC entitlements.
Perhaps DTG JD could explain why it isn't possible to take your history and progress (profile) from TSW2, to TSW3 on EPIC (and Windows store), why it is only possible on Steam? If I had known Epic/Windows were going to be treated as "2nd class citizens" to Steam, I would never have spent £500 on DTG content on Epic.
For a matter of fact, i actually can import profile & medal i collect from TSW2 to my TSW3, i'm not start all over again. Me myself never done any collectibles.
We are pushing every day. We've been waiting to hear back from our contact at Epic for a little while. Apologies.
When we talked about Profile Transfer, we did mention it wasn't available for players on those platforms at this time (https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/progress-transfer-update-tsw3). As others have surmised, it is more complex. Not to say it won't happen, but it's not something we're currently working on.
Just to add to what JD said, although the Xboz for PC version doesn’t have profile transfer. You can transfer your profile on an Xbox (if you have one) and if you log in on the PC it will pick up the same profile.
Well that means I will never buy a DLC heavy game on Epic although TSW certainly is a bit of a special case.
The only reason i have my TSW2 in Epic, to be honest, because it was free back then when TSW2 available for the first time on Epic.
Same here. And then I felt it was the proper thing to do to buy my (more than 40) DLCs on Epic too, instead of picking up the base game for five bucks in one of the countless sales on Steam and get the DLCs there, expecting (what I still do) that the developer will have an ambition to treat all customers more or less equally. Courtesy killed the cat, I guess.
JD, this is very disappointing. I can understand why you might concentrate on Steam, my guess being that you have the most PC players on Steam. But I have bought something like 50 DLC's from EPIC. I have progress on those 50 DLC's. Why is it not important to DTG that I take my progress with me when I upgrade from TSW2 to TSW3 on EPIC? You are not even saying that you have plans for me to be able to import my TSW2 profile into TSW3 on EPIC. If you make the game available on multiple PC platforms you should support them equally! Otherwise you need to make it clear to both your customers and potential customers, BEFORE they spend their money, that one platform is more important to you than other! It's a painful lesson to learn, that I should have bought the game and DLC on Steam! This is a big deal for me.
I did the same here too. TSW2 free I think last year and some time after that start to buy DLCs. I got Cities Skyline for free too, bought a couple of DLC but to enhance the game with mods I switch over to Steam. In case of TSW2 I didn't feel the need for mod and kept it on Epic.
In regards to the progress transfer thing on Epic I'm a little confused. The official word before release was it would not be available on Epic "At this stage". But I preordered TSW3 on Epic and the first time I fired it up in the early access it prompted me to import my TSW2 profile, which I did. I saw that it carried over my overall level as well as gave me credit for a bunch of miles travelled in the SD-40 from my time on Sandpatch and Sherman Hill. Once I received most of my TSW2 add-ons I went through the menus and all the info from TSW2 seems to be present. It gives me credit for distance travelled with the locos and total distance travelled on the routes, my journey progress is there, timetables I've completed are shown and the medals I earned, my progress on route tasks is there (though when I select a route it says 0/100 at the top despite showing completed tasks in the detailed list to the right, though it does this even for TSW3 launch routes so I think its an unrelated bug) and my mastery challenges and rewards are there. Granted I can't check the TSW2 core routes yet but otherwise it seems like all my progress is there. If progress transfer on Epic is not working someone is gonna have to point me to whats missing. DW
Same for me, pre ordered, first time it asked me if I wanted to import, did so and had most of the progress imported. There might be some things missing, but Level etc was up2date. The missing entitlements on Epic are of course a slight bummer, but I've been enjoying the new routes (and other routes that I had bought and which are working) quite a lot. Let's just hope that Epic figures it out rather sooner than later.
Hey folks. Had a message from the Epic team to say the entitlements had been added. Can you check for me, please?
Not an inkling of improvement, sorry. TSW2 core routes, Rush hour routes (summer pass) still missing entirely, Ruhr-Sieg Nord and BR 155 not showing in the game.
tygerways#2596 / Suryaaji#2369 / aliila#7384 / gvert can you DM me your Epic IDs please so I can pass them to Epic to investigate please?
No sign yet of the TSW2 core routes here either. Could it be it just needs a little longer to work through their system or should we definitely have had them now? DW
Update for this thread - have spoken to a few people individually and sent off more details to Epic. Awaiting a reply, but I doubt we'll see progress before the weekend, sadly. I'll update when I hear more.
Right know GMT 02:25 am for me. TSW3 updated and BML, Dresden-Riese and Boston Providence are available in the game. Missing routes are SKA, BKL e SDG. Ruhr Sieg Nord is installed but can't access in the game.
Just checked again and the Rush hour route entitlements have shown up for me. So far as I'm aware at this point I am not missing anything else.
I had the Core routes on my end with the first set of entitlements before they started investigating the missing ones from the packs.
Can confirm: Rush Hour routes are entitled, downloaded and appear in the game (seems solved). Entitlements for Core routes still missing. Ruhr-Sieg Nord (plus BR 155) entitled, but not showing (no change so far).
Wow, so some people got the core routes right from the start when they should have? How can Epic be this confuddled? DW
Maybe it makes a difference whether you paid for the game or picked it up when it was given away at the start.
I wouldn't think so, when you claim a free game on Epic you go through the usual order screen and they e-mail you an invoice for it, they just make the price $0.00. It should be associated with your account like anything else. DW
