I, and may other players, would really love a miniature railway route DLC on tsw3. I have suggested the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway as one option but if others are chosen, I really wouldn't mind.

This would be a really unique and interesting spin on the game, hopefully including both steam and diesel/electric locos.

In terms of profitability, most people who own the game would very much consider purchasing the DLC, simply because the concept is so unique and interesting. I for one know I would play it a lot!

I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this idea.

problem is, is that miniature steam is usually driven and fired by one individual due to the size of the cab thus removing the helpful automatic fireman feature.. As much as I would love to see miniature railways such as the RH&DR in-game, I just don't think that we are ready for that.. I would, however, love to see more narrow gauge routes..

That would be fantastic fun. The landscape changes quite significantly. One end is a wide loop and the other a classic terminus, and the route is also used to ferry children to and from one of the local schools. The route is also roughly the length of a standard TSW run time too.
Can’t see that automatic fireman should be a problem, suspension of reality is fine for accessibility I would think.

Count me in on this too. Never ridden the real railway (on my bucket list) but watched a couple of cab ride videos and looks fascinating. Not all flat scenery either, the hills start to close in at the north/east end of the route.

Seeing how Train Simulator has the Game of Gnomes DLC with a model train called Little Ned, what would stop DTG from creating a collection of miniature railways?

If DTG made a collection of miniature railways from around the UK and the world into one DLC, it might be worth doing as opposed to having one short route. This could even include other short railways like Brighton's Volk's Electric Railway and maybe historical lines that have been long gone.

Hastings Old Town has one that goes along the seafront but the trains are not as big as the suggested Romney, Hythe, and Dymchurch route. There used to be another in a park near Hastings but I believe that was closed years ago. Hastings_Miniature_Railway.jpg

Our own Coate Water Miniature Railway in Swindon has quite an extensive circuit and some in America are huge. Train Mountain in Oregon (I think) or one in Edmonton Canada called Iron Horse Park.

There are also some great model railways that it would be fun to shrink oneself down and explore. This is a popular offshoot in Trainz and I’m sure there would be demand in TSW too. It’s the sort of thing where if DTG opened up TSW with a world editor, some of us would love to have a go at creating.
