I despair sometimes, the hoops that software developers put you through to install their products. Jt are a company that has always had you downloading the full software in order to update a minor change. This is huge for their complex routes. Above is the latest update to the MML in order to install the HopE Valley extension. Yet another 2+GB download - but wait there's more! In order for the installation to be successful you have to: Now if you have all extensions thus far that is 7 uninstalls and 7 reinstalls in the correct order. Wouldn't have been easier to say delete the MML folder (\STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\Routes\fd2885e5-2744-4fdd-8a49-e60b027ac26d) in Railworks and then reinstall the updated route and all extensions. Or am I missing something? pH
Have you complained to JT? We can't do anything to fix the problem, and yes, it is annoying what they do.
It’s only the main Sheffield Derby route you have to uninstall and update to v1.11 to enable the joining of the two routes. Cannot see a problem with that.
nwp1 See my post above in the quote!! You have to uninstall and reinstall all associated route extensions and so far there are 6.
i for one dont like just trains as a 3rd party because when they release stuff it dont got to PC Steam right away and us players that play the PC Steam edition have to wait months for it to be released when other 3rd partys can let u download if u do have the Steam Edition i find this to be greedy and wrong so it mite look nice but after there rude reply to me asking why they will not see my money
I purchased the Sheffield - Derby route through DTG on steam. Would I get this update through DTG before the Hope Valley is released via DTG on steam?
That's what I would do, yes. At least that's what I would try first. BTW... where are JT updates listed? I can never find them on the website.
You need to sign into your JT account and then click on 'Your Orders'. The downloads can be listed either by 'name' or 'date purchased' but not by 'date updated' as far as I can make out.
Did you get the route direct from Just Trains? If so, did you not get an email from them about the updated version yesterday?
Like already mentioned if bought direct you should receive an email whenever one of your purchases is updated, you can also scroll to the bottom of the JT web page and click on Support, then you select your content from the drop down FAQ menu.
Hmmm.... never got a mail. I'll check spam filter. [edit] It was spam filtered again. That's the second time I've had to white list it. Gmail sucks. I did notice that the update doesn't mentions uninstalling anything. That was for v1.10 not 1.11. So you had already done that, this update doesn't seem to require it.
PH As above I received an email from JT with news of the updates. Their updates are individual so even if you installed v1.10 you still need to follow the instructions for v1.11. pH
I've found all of their MML routes/add-ons have been fantastic. Hope Valley really sets a new standard from what I saw in the preview streams. I'll be picking this up later today and most likely streaming it tonight.
Just an fyi, (for me at least) forum signatures don't show up on the phone app. Edit: By phone app I mean Chrome btw.
I'll put a link up in creation center. Bear in mind I'm a small channel and have no fixed schedules for streams. Thanks for the info. See above for info.
Ok Nick cannot find creation centre in YT so will keep an eye on what is live. Will you be saving it for future viewing?
I put a link to my channel in the creation center section of the forum. As for saving the video, all my streamed content is available to watch after the stream has ended.
Hi Peter, I have another grumble with JT its pricing strategy. I'm forced to buy everything in US dollars so this route is $37.99 US which translates to $64.99 NZD which is quite a lot when the maximum I ever pay for routes on Steam is $49.99NZ no conversion as everything for me is in NZ dollars. I don't know how Steam manages to keep the same prices in NZ $ as the currency variations is fluctuating daily. I shall be sitting this one out until it appears on Steam at $49.99 or cheaper NZ$.
I too would agree on this. I'll prefer buying it in my local currency on steam. Will wait for its release on steam.
