Just in case some unknowingly missed this - the NJE on the Gen8 consoles had severe limitations. As such a user, I am particularly interested in whether this will also be the case this time?

Everything else I have to consider here as a luxury problem. If you want to save money, you will find the opportunity here.

Actually, now you mention it, why didn't they just throw in an extra few container loadouts? I'm no soecialist, so I wonder how big the difference between a container KFA and ine used for RHTT is. Anyone that could enlighten?

is this going to add to the time tables of all 3 routes or are they just substitute for other locos?

I mean nothing says every person has to buy every add on. If it isn't exactly what you want there isn't too much point in complaining, just wait for one you want. At the price point these are all reasonable. Adding new rolling stock or train consists would be a bigger scope and need more time and money.

This seems basically like the expansion pack for TSW2 that sells for cheaper than most DLC and uses existing locos to be re-skinned for some unique services or scenarios. The RHTT seems neat to me and probably the one part of this that will push me to buy it. The Sante Fe F7 looks nice, but I am one of the people (like some others) who doesn't like the mixing of old locos with modern routes and rolling stock, so I am not as excited about it as I would be if it was on a era appropriate route. But yeah not every DLC is for every taste, I had the same issue with the Diesel Great Western DLC but apparently it sold well enough without me.

The other thing is Branding what FOC in the UK runs KFA Intermodal Wagons? license required for non DB company.

Slam door stock would be great. Need to speak to @armstrongpowerhouse

(from JD's post back in the ether).

    I'll summarise it here:

(these are all on TSW3 routes)
    • All have new tutorials in the Training Center
    • RHTT has new services and new scenarios
    • F7 has a new layer with new services, along with scenarios
    • 182 has new services and scenarios

      Hentis

    Looks a nice pack.

We really need some passenger cars for the F7’s though. Cajon pass has passenger facilities as well as several other American routes. That with some passenger paths routed through the platforms would be lovely and add some play value.

Still waiting for an FP40 consist with Amtrak coaches in scenario planner. We’ve got the coaches and creators club has the liveries.

How is it a pain to select the liveries you want if your already subscribed to the liveries you chose?

It's kind of fun to think about, that the original Cajon Pass on TSC had just that - the F7 with coaches! And they openly admit they drew their inspiration from that DLC.

Looked all through this thread and see many posts on the F7 running with modern rolling stock, which is not the best thing, but no one has called out the real issue on the F7. Freight F7s were painted in the blue bonnet theme not the red one which was reserved for passenger motors. Yes, the red ones would occasionally show up on freight, but not entire sets,

If DTG was really set on using the F7 no matter what, the least they could’ve done was included all three Red, Blue, and Yellow bonnets.

Just read the article…. I’m not sure if brand new loco is a bit deceiving.

I think I already own a 66, f7 and the other. This looks like a nice £12 saving

  16. bruh what a blatant cash grab for something that could have been released for free, on creators club, or better yet, bundled with the route itself.

I really dislike that practice of releasing content with a 80% (Or whatever the actual number is) finished timetable so that you have to pay for a DLC with recycled rolling stock to get the 20% remaining.

The 182 Dispolok interests me I will admit, but the F7 is not of interest at all when looking at the screenshots. The trains they are running on are modern with BNSF logos I think? I presume that they then will also drive as an AI layer amongst the modern BNSF trains? …having an F7 coming towards me when driving my ES44C4 would pretty much kill the imersion for me.

It shouldn’t be you are right. Alas mine unsubscribe themselves everytime I close the game so I have to reselect them again.
With the clunky Ui and dozens of liveries it’s a bit of a chore sadly.

Sorry to say but that's my view too. If DTG really want to promote TSW then we need something completely new, not reskins. There are pages full of potential candidates for traction and routes in the Suggestion forum - we could have had a new BR "Classic" diesel such as a Class 56, or if they wanted to stick with modern a Class 70 perhaps. Or as requested a 700 or even a 319 for BML.

And without wising to labour the point, contrast £11.99 for a reskin pack with the £34.99 I just paid in TSC which gave me no less than seven new routes to try (Chinese Pack), including Tehachapi and Birmingham Cross City (admittedly the 323 is a bit naff).

Yes I know we had Cajon and Wurzelburg with TSW3, but I don't really count SEHS as new and we only had the one new train in the ICE-1.

I do have to pose the question, do DTG actually have any route builders or loco/stock 3D modellers working for them at the moment, as the lack of anything new and innovative seems to point in that direction.

This DLC is as much innovative as TSW3 itself, fits perfectly there...

I’m always a bit mixed on these types of add-ons.
The locos included in them tend to be simple repaints and not completely accurate reproductions. This is not being clearly mentioned anywhere, so uninformed players may be misled. The profit margins are arguably very high as most of the work on a loco is likely spent on modeling and making it drive realistically - which is not necessary in these cases as the locos are simple repaints of existing ones. Maybe that will change with this DLC though as we don’t know a ton about the quality of the locos yet.

That said, let’s look at this DLC:
    • The UK train genuinely seems to be interesting. It adds some very unique freight services (maintenance work would probably be a more fitting name). And the Class 66 doesn’t seem to be a simple repaint, as it sports some interior changes as well.
    • The German one is questionable to say the least. It just appears to be another reskin of the 182 with nothing special. I really hope these new services will be accessible to all freight trains as it’s… just a normal train like all the others.
    • I don’t know much about the US train, but people seem to be really disappointed at the lack of passenger cars. Would apparently have been accurate in combination with this loco and added some much-needed service variety to the route.

This is a very freight-centric DLC, so I won’t be getting it. That said, the UK train with its new service types sounds genuinely interesting. The other two appear to be reskinned versions of existing locos with nothing special. But there will undoubtedly be players out there who like these additions, and I wish them tons of fun with the DLC! Meanwhile, I’m sure the profits from this DLC will aid in the development of high-quality content which targets a larger portion of the player base.

I think DTG will develop loco dlc' s down the line. But they really haven't made routes with new trains for quite some time. Yeh we got the ICE 1 but still...

They must know people have been crying out for new trains for this game for a while now. There are so many german and british freight trains that can be made yet they keep using the same trains over and over again. Does the U.K only use Class 66's? It's like they aren't even trying.

Heck the 66s aren't even the trains that would run these RHTT services in reality

Must admit I’m one of those suckers who has bought everything. Every incarnation we lose something then this! Please can we have different U.K. loco rather than another 66? Whilst I understand you need to keep the money rolling in you are starting to push people away. This year is the first year I haven’t purchased the main game and this upcoming DLC pack is going to be the first one I will not be buying. Look money is tight everywhere so when looking to add to the game you want value and originality. There is zero value to the DLC and zero originality. New routes, locomotives and scenarios that is what will get players paying hard earned money not rehashed and repainted. Please DTG if loyal customers who have bought ALL DLC to date aren’t buying heed the warning and produce decent and original NEW content then our wallets are yours, figuratively speaking.

The RHTT’s are increasingly using 66’s and always have done.
But your other point is still valid, there is so much more that could be done. They even have the class 20’s that they could modernise.

I’ve always been in support of livery packs, so once the add ons manager is released for PS5, I’ll pick this up along with TSW3.

I will say that the RHTT should of been in GBRF livery, and considering there are no changes other than the livery for the 182, it would of been nice to have the livery applied to another German loco such as the 185.5, also, it would be nice to see the leasing firm locos’ on passenger substitutions.

I’ll probably just pick up the RHTT and 182 pack, and save myself £2, not sure what DTG were thinking with the F7.

We can’t have it all, but a new DE colour scheme and RHTT consists are pretty solid additions, although I do share the sentiment that the rolling stock is becoming very ‘samey’.

I thought it was the class 73's that ran on this route. Granted, a class 66 and 73 both look very similar

You are right- the 73’s do work the RHTT’s. But they use plenty of other locomotives as there are quite a few RHT trains.

    The RHTT’s use 20’s, 37’s, 47’s, 66’s, 68’s and 73’s.

They need two engines and they both get filthy so most companies don’t want to use their finest engines haha.

JD, does the F7 include new updated TSW3 sounds? I would imagine they will, that would be totally awesome. The engine sounds and train horns sound so much more realistic than they did in TSW2. Loving the game so far. I do like the idea of this train pack and will purchase it and I also look forward to the announcement of the next new TSW3 routes. I'm hoping that the next new US route will include both freight and passenger operations and a similar route length to the Cajon pass route.

Why weren't these in the original premium-priced product?

I really think there should be laws against companies that sell an unfinished product and then three weeks later demand more money to actually finish it. Software companies seem to exist in the Wild West when it comes to consumer rights.

This has really turned me off buying anything more from DTG.

Pleased to see your able to purchase one item for a cheaper price of £4.99 for what you want instead of being forced to have but £3.99 would of been better.
Haven't played TSW3 in awhile because what has happened with transfering progression I haven't felt motivated to play and it's a real shame.

The f7 will most likely have the same sounds dtg has used for those types of locomotives since they don't really have like new sounds or fresh recordings. There isn't like a tsg or an ap in the us other than the horn guy but that's only the horn, not the engine sounds

Quick DTG!! Rustle up some ATSF boxcars.

While I agree that the F7 needs some heritage rolling stock to go with it and its own separate timetable, I'm happy to pay a sawbuck or so for a well- made reskin with some added scenarios and services.

Of course, the F7 is only a 1,500 hp loco, so it's going to struggle on the mountain unless it has some serious assistance in the form of boosters, MU's and/or helpers. And without any " banking com " ( as per CRR version ), well.....

If future content is anything like the TSW3 routes, DTG will be regularly grabbing my gaming cash . . .

I love the F7 and look forward to running it in the Cajon timetable. I would not be very excited about a BNSF reskin of the more modern TSW2 diesels until the braking physics is sorted out on those locos.

The 182 is my favorite German freight loco; I really like double clicking on the throttle to get a distance counter. I hope it comes with improved gauge lighting at night.

The RHTT sounds intriguing and I love all the seasonal layers being built in to SEHS. Set the calendar to October and you will get this as AI along with Joes' sneaky addition to the high speed section.

I look forward to the stream on Thursday.

While this makes me excited. I think more should have been added. We got the DB BR 182 during TSW 2020 and we got the F7A back during TSW2 on Clinchfield. I will personally still get it but there needs to be more diversity with locomotives. Especially on the USA side of things, Introduce new American locomotives that aren't as known. You have the Amtrak, and NS copyrights. Do something with them like the line in between Charlotte and maybe Greensboro. It's roughly 89 miles. You can at least include some new passenger locomotives. My point is there's options don't continue with the same stuff. Don't add the SD40-2 for the like 20th time. I understand it's popular but it gets tiring to look at always.

Not to mention the GP38-2 in the past. But who's counting.

Tbh I really wish DTG look at the suggestion pages and see what route ideas are getting the most attention, so they can use that to pick and make their next route.
I think also it’s time for the team venture out of the UK, US and German cycle and learn a new signalling system in a different country.

We absolutely need more EMD, i mean for mainline duty role. Last time we get new proper EMD engine on TSW2 was SMH SD70ACe. Don't get me wrong, i do love GE engines, but wouldn't it be nice if we have more variety.

Other than the SD70Ace, the SD 40's and the Geeps, I'm not sure what EMD's you'd be looking for that we don't already have. The F7 will make it 2 out of 3 on Cajon Pass.
