    Hi All,

I noticed the rain effects dont quite look right to me in that the falling rain looks like snow and very pronounced! The rain drops on the windscreen are ok but the outside rain seems to be a bit too much coming down in great lines which I'm sure was never like this before.

Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this at all.

I have pretty much most settings maxed out. Running in 64 bit mode.

    Hello,

Just a quick update to say I managed to rectify this by doing a small edit in the 'SilverLining' weather folder and now the falling rain looks much better and realistic. The rain has a much finer look to it and makes for driving from cab view and outside a much better experience all round.

    Regards

Hi Brummie, just came across your post. What edit did you do because I agree that the rain is a bit off and Id like to try your solution.

    Hello,

I went into 'railworks/data/SilverLining' and opened up the 'SilverLining.override' file. I use Windows 10 so used notepad when it was offered.
    Now look for 'rain-streak-width-multiplyer = 5.0' and change the 5 to 1

Hope this helps and good luck

One thing to check... Does validating change this back? I've noted some files get reverted when you make such changes

I applied the corrections you suggested and it looks really really good now! It looks like real rain and it now feels like a horrible wet and windy Great Western Mainline with the sort of drizzle that gets right down your neck. Great fix and again thanks for sharing! Massive immersion boost :)

    Yes, that looks about right.

What made me want to fix the rain was I bought the Waterloo - Portsmouth (After the update from 32bit to 64bit) route and thought the rainy scenarios completely ruined things for me. Luckily a chap over on the 'uktrainsim' forums gave me the little fix snippet which worked.

    Sorry just noticed this reply!

Not too sure to be honest. Will know when i do my next 'Verify'. I don't often do those although i did run one before applying the fix thinking maybe there was something missing which made the falling rain look so poor.
