I have been trying this timetable scenario repeatedly for a few days now but I cannot stop before the TVM board at Stratford International and keeping getting SPAD. On this service, you'll be chasing a stopping at all stations Javelin ahead of you. You'll catch up to it at Ebbsfleet and then approaching Stratford International is where the issues lies. You're expected to come to a complete halt by the next TVM board from 170km/h down to 0km/h immediately after passing the last TVM board in the eastern portal, engaging maximum breaking at notch 10 and yet it isn't enough to stop the train before the signal at Stratford. I am not sure if this is intentional and reflects real life as it surely the in cab signalling should display speeds to slow down to 0km/h smoothly, but it just doesn't seem like I am able to do much to stop the train from passing signal at danger. Unless the game requires you to activate the emergency brakes to not pass the signal, I think it is pretty unfair to lose that progress when the stopping distance simply isn't possible at max brakes. Only way to pass this it seems is to make the mistake and be much slower than what the in-cab signalling system is telling you to be at. Happy to be corrected/ proven wrong if I have made an issue with this as this route is practically the only one I drive religiously on this game and it just doesn't seem correct that a driver has to immediately attempt to stop a train at 105mph to 0 in less than half a mile without using max breaks. Cheers! Jx
Not got this far in the timetable. But i shall give it a look also to seen what its all about and give feedback also to help
I took a look at 5J49 and could not find any issues with TVM. The 170 was flashing, means that you can not keep driving 170 but must continue to brake and slow down. The red zeros appeared in the next block, which I entered at 130 and was able to brake and stop quite comfortably in the last block. My understanding of flashing speed limits in TVM is as follows: 320 = 300 300 = 270 270 = 230 230 = 200 225 = 200 200 = 170 170 = 130 160 = 100 130 = 100 100 = 80 The new speed limit must be reached before entering the next block. If the speed limit continues to flash, you must continue braking and reach the next lower speed limit before entering the next block. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you all for your responses!! Might be my misunderstanding of the in cab signalling that caught me off guard! I appreciate all of your feedback!! X
Same thing for me in various service, but can solve by braking before TVM let you to slow down at 200 km/h and seeing map for trains haead
If this is like several of the other Javelin services, you're able to arrive significantly earlier at Stratford then your timetable expects you, which means you're given a red signal at the start of the platform (as the platform is still occupied by the previous train) but TVM waits until the last possible second to drop you down.
