I've always wanted this route in Train Sim World (4). The Vienna-Linz route is 96 miles (155 km) long between Westbahn Wien and Linz, via St. Pölten, in around 1h 26 minutes. Since TSW (4) can do longer routes, this wonderful Austrian high-speed route would be lovely in the game. This also includes Verschiebebahnhof Wien Kledering and Linz Vbf as freight end and starting points. The new construction section Vienna – St. Pölten of the Neue Westbahn is a high-speed railway line in Austria. It runs from Vienna via the Tullnerfeld to St. Pölten and is part of the TEN project No. 17 " Magistrale for Europe". The section was put into operation with the timetable change on December 9, 2012. The non-stop travel time between the newly opened Vienna Central Station and St. Pölten Central Station was reduced from 41 to 28 minutes; those between Vienna Meidling and St. Pölten to 21 minutes. Top Speed: 250 kph (155 mph) Whole Track length (Vienna - Salzburg): 312.2 km (194 miles) Rolling Stock: ÖBB Railjet A Railjet train set consists of seven individual coaches: four coaches with economy seating, one coach with a restaurant and a first class seating section, one coach with first class seating, and a control car with a first class seating section and a business class seating section (the most premium class), that are permanently coupled with airtight interconnections, but with buffer and hook couplings on the outer ends of the set of coaches suitable for buffer and chain screw coupling. Two complete train sets with two locomotives can be run as a pair giving a train of fourteen carriages. The coach furthest from the locomotive acts as a control car. The number of carriages per train can be extended up to ten in a single train unit. It is part of a new 250 kilometres per hour section between Vienna and St. Pölten which is part of the Western Railway (Austria). Automatic yes for me, Automatic cash grab for me, automatic pre order for me, purchasing it the second it comes out. I’ve loved the the 1X16 for so long and wished we got the br182 with a Intercity set instead of dostos and Freight wagons. Hell I’d even pay dovetail to make this a route. This is a top must do along with the E/Wcml
Bring it on and I do remember you commenting on my post about SFS Wien Linz. For Train protection systems HSR is ETCS with LZB non-HSR is PZB.
I wish DTG would start making some austrian routes too, they have done it in the past. Did something happen between them and ÖBB?
Great suggestion! I would really like to see Austrian trains in the game, especially the Railjet, ICE T and InterCity/EuroCity. Hope there will be an Austrian route in TSW soon, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants this.
Same and furthermore the OBB Baureihe 1216 can be reskinned to become an SZ541 these are found inside Linz Vbf for a Jessenice bound freight via Pyhrnbahn or Wien Kledering for a Sudbahn freight via Semmering. Inside Kledering the SZ541 freight train gets shunted by an OBB Baureihe 1064 substituted by 363 204 G6 if one owns RRO RSN Dresden-Chemnitz/Riesa and Main Spessart Bahn
Would love this route. Big variantion of rolling stock..but I doubt Nightjet would come, license problem. But the ES64UX and Desiro ML or Stadler kiss would be amazing
Sounds amazing Austria railways, something completely different My only concern is: about the Locomotive That they will probably use the Taurus again and we can continue. from the: BR 182 Taurus To the: Taurus 1116 and 1016 series In itself I think this is still ok, only if they use the sounds that the "RWA Railjet Advanced" also has. Not those current sounds in Train SIM World now, the ones that sound so disgusting in my opinion. the passenger carriages Only these they should rebuild (Bmz Eurofima coaches) or modify (Bpmmz 284.4 / Avmmz 106.1) And "EWIV coaches SBB" in the long run wagons for Switzerland, in real life no taurus has been seen there yet! Something says there is a very simple chance for the two countries that they will release standard wagons. Sounds like a logical choice, I could be wrong about that. A surprise would arrive a appreciated.
Nightjet is an ÖBB product that's the motorail train seen on Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Kassel Würzburg where it's capped to 140 kmh 85 mph due to the Laaers 560s. What Schnellfahrstrecke Wien Linz can fix that DB BR101 service is giving it a Bmz73 intercity coach WLAB sleeper carriage Ddm 915 that way we can run 160 kmh for that service. Stand in Köln Hbf around 07:17 you should see that ÖBB 1116 1016 ready to go on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen as the Wien Hbf to Brussels Midi Sleeper EN424/425.
There is one version missing it's the 1216 which is a 182 that uses 189/1293 Vectron electrical system. When it comes to owning this route combined with RRO HRR München Augsburg Main Spessart Bahn Riesa Dresden you would expect a 767.2/766.2 780 785 dosto being powered by an ÖBB Baureihe 1116 1016 1216 instead of a 146.2 112 143.
lovely suggestion another hot corridor would be Wien Hbf - Wiener Neustadt, both via Modling and Pottendorf, with possibility of Aspangbahn... would offer ton of services for all kinds of trains and service patterns, from slower diesel ones to S-Bahn services and all the way to InterCity old school ones and RailJets
I would give a lot of money for this route as for Kledering, they would have to figure out hump yard physics and operation (switches and on-track brakes, all that would require either new game mechanics or automatic AI operation with the operations tower)
