But if they don't buy it, they can't be "offended" by it!

I was confused when they used the Nightjet name, yes they have the right operator licence but NJ isn't in the game and using the name may lead people to expect it to be there when it isn't. It would be another nice idea for loco dlc to have the proper Nightjet train in the game and may be something that would be able to layer onto several routes currently available and flesh out the nightime timetable and station activity.

Um, yes, the real life route and how it is structured isn't the issue. High speed routes going through lots of tunnels makes perfect sense. The issue is that DTG chose the most boring and monotonous route possible, from a train sim player's perspective, when there are so many interesting routes in Germany they could have chosen. But these would require more effort to design and program and cost more to develop. Since TSW already has two high speed routes for Germany (not to mention the long-standing sound quality and authenticity issues) I can't help but think that DTG is not living up to its full potential and instead choosing to put in the least amount of effort while charging a premium for their so-so offerings.

(please stop it with the "don't buy the German edition" or "nobody forced you to buy it" responses. if everyone just obediently accepts everything a company releases without criticism they will always charge as much as they possibly can while cutting corners and cheaping out on the design and quality of the actual product)

Why would any serious train sim developer make such a terrible decision? Did DTG think nobody will notice that their "Nightjet" consist is made of the same old DB IC coaches that came with the BR 101 years ago? Do they care about quality control and reproducing *authentic* detail? They couldn't even include a few authentic NJ coaches with a paid update of TSW. That is really sad. It wouldn't even take that much effort.

So in your world the only choices are 1) buy the product and shut up and accept everything the company sells even if it is subpar and/or a rip off or 2)don't buy the product.

If everyone thought like you companies would never improve their products and services.

I could agree on this observation. And I have my fair share of bashing when it comes to some of DTG´s ill-conceived product policies (which take advantage of the paying lemmings, me included up to a certain point).
But I could not agree on your Kassel-Würzburg Route bashing. I mean you have to be fair here. And in all fairness you´ll have to recognize that, yes, there´s quite some distance to be driven in tunnels. But it´s not "60-70%", it´s quite exactly 48%. And let´s not stop there: Because such a route requires also quite a few bridges, actually looooooots of bridges. Which, in turn, must be modelled as well.
Now, I´ve got 3dsMax, SolidWorks and Catia on the job every day. I assure you that 3D designing and modeling is a time-consuming process, plus you have to be a skilled specialist to deal with these softwares. This is how you get your 3D model. but it´s still "naked" and needs different textures. Another job for skilled nerds.
See below, column 3 will tell you about the overall bridge lengths:

    BridgesSKW.jpg

Versus the tunnel extensions (summing up ~87km out of 183km):

I didn't say that or imply it, it just suits your argument to believe that is what I was implying.

There is plenty of information out there on streams, articles and reviews/comments on forums.

With research you could easily have known what your purchase included so why purchase it?

I haven't purchased TSW3 because I knew, from research that at the current time it won't really offer me anything I am interested in.

    Same for me.

Although I'm glad there are people around here with enough diplomatic skill to provide constructive criticism, as I'm lacking such skill. I'm here long enough to to know what TSW flaws are so now just evaluate the DLCs or a TSW3 at the state as it is being released, without any delusions that it might be improved in the future, and decide to buy it or not.

And meanwhile I'm observing if any of those constructive criticims points are being taking under consideration by DTG and being implemented or is it just a waste of breath.

I feel like I need to jump in here, despite it not being about me, to say something nobody will relate to or understand anyway.
We're here in the PlayStation sub-forum.
    PlayStation has trophies.
Until the trophy bar isn't 100% filled I don't consider a game as completed.

...I also want to say, that from the DLCs I have played so far in TSW2 the Peninsula Corridor is the most boring. That loco accelerates like trash, brakes like trash, sounds like trash... the environment is super boring to look at. And a service costs you around two hours. Because for the trophies you need to use the CAT for 400 miles. And also do 100 services. And reach level 20 on the track.

I havn't started TSW3 yet, but I bought the version that has all four starter packs. How am I supposed to complete a game without having all DLCs? And to be honest, I would rather drive an ICE-1 for a long straight, than whatever the Americans are doing. American trains are so... ughh...
I'm now playing the Harlem Line, driving the M7A subway. Like that so far. Finally a US train that doesn't feel like "a massive poo, but hey it's American so it must be 9XL ultra-sized because *pew pew* Amuricuhhh duck yeahhh!!!! *honks* U S A!!! U S A!!! We ArE nUmBeR JUAAAAAN!!! In AbSoLuTe EvErYtHiNg!!!11".

No seriously. My father worked at ÖBB, the Austrian Railways. I love trains since I was a child. I don't care if long distance trains, regional trains, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram or Schnellstraßenbahn (literal translation: fast road train... basically a tram, but faster. Like that one in my picture, that isn't in service anymore.)... I love trains. A weird hobby for a girl, probably, but, yeah I love trains.
But... American trains are so extremely... unsexy. I can't even... I'm aware it would be expensive to electrify rails over the entire US, but, please, why must American trains all be so massive and super ugly? Like for example that one in Peninsula Corridor. Please tell me what else than "USA NUMBA OOONE!!!11 WE BIG PP!!11" could any engineer who worked at designing and building that could have thought. Absolutely everything about this DLC was plain disgusting and I can now totally understand why in the US everyone believes they would die if they don't have a SUV and a credit card since having been a toddler... Because going by train in America is just... unpleasant. Everything about it.

There are diesel locos in Germany and Austria eg too. Because there are areas where it's difficult to setup overhead wiring. On mountains eg. But neither the German nor the Austrian diesel trains look so extremely unsexy like the American ones.
We even have a DLC for a German track using a diesel loco. Look at that! It looks like a normal train and not like something someone with a toxic and fragile masculinity has designed... The environment is beautiful. Heck even the music for the trailer is beautiful...

You could now ask "But why did you buy it then?". Simple. It's part of the game. Me not playing it stands between me and completing the game. And if I spend money on something I want to see it done. I'm not one of these in my opinion weird people who buy everything Day1, try it for half an hour, then never touch it again but whine that they have no money...

And when does DTG bring the four Austrian DLCs from TSC to TSW anyway? :'(
Anyway, before I play Kassel-Würzburg I should figure out how the LZB works on PlayStation. I did all tutorials of all DLCs I have played so far in TSW2, because doing all tutorials also give trophies and those completion, but none of the German DLCs I have played so far told me how to use the LZB, or anything else. I'm still driving completely manually, or with coasting if possible. :'D
I saw that DTG overworked the tutorials for TSW3. Hope th game is now going to explain me stuff. I can't ask my father, because he's dead.

I think the argument is that this route was choose specifically because of the many tunnels which means less work on designing the landscape despite the impressive length

Is TSW2 still relevant, will we get more routes for TSW2?

Nope, all new content produced now goes only for TSW3, like ine example the latest locos pack.

TSW2 can be happy if it will receive a patch or two

I would be happy enough if the trophies/achievements work as intended.
If a game is bugged and what not, fine, I can work with that. I mean, I don't know how old other gamers are, but back in my time - and I'm not thaaat old - there was no way to update a game. Except by including the patch in an expansion pack... that was on a disc too. But you know what? I was gaming before disc based expansion packs too... Back then games "just worked" or people tried to exploit the bug af. *shrugs*

I don't care about the issue that I got yesterday derailed WHILE STANDING... IN A STATION... ON TIME...
BUT if a game can't be completed (because trophies/achievements don't pop) then it's just sad.
Games should at least be somehow completable.
That being said, I still don't have any Harlem Line trophies.

It's simply standing in for the Nightjet in the timetable. DTG rather obviously have not invested the time and money into building an entire train from scratch, just for a once-a-day AI! Not to mention the licensing issue.

If you're attacking DTG for that, you're barking up the wrong tree: the 187 is a third-party product.

Have you ever built 3D rolling stock with physics for Unreal engine? Actually, it is "that much effort." Man-hours and budget are finite.

Im sure most players care way more about the actual game then about some silly trophies/achievements (JPEGs on a website/in some software).

It seems you didn't understand my point. Please try again, before considering the hobby of someone else stupid and being judgy.

First... How do you get trophies? By playing a game. How do you get all trophies? By COMPLETING it.
If a game is COMPLETABLE it's good enough, because nothing ever will be 100% perfect.
And because this game here is kind of expensive, heck, I would really be happy if it would be at least completable.
I apologize that I'm not one of these "I buy a game and throw it into the corner after half an hour and then whine that I have no money" people, I guess.

Second... I don't care about "JPEGs on a website" either. I don't even have my profile set to public. it would be the horror, getting judgy and ignorant PMs from people like you all the time, who appear to not understand the concept. If you go out for dinner, do you leave half your plate behind "I'm sure most eaters care way more about the taste and not about actually eating up and getting something for their money"?

I have absolute no idea what your issue is.
